Hello I will be planning a trip in the later part of May to go to North Carolina and looking for the local chapters to help find some good locations. I am a member of the Fredrick Maryland chapter. I have a lot of questions as this will be my first trip down there, so let me just jump right in. We will be using a mini high banker and would like to know if this is allowed Where to stay while down there Where are the gpaa claims at as I have not received my book yet In order to go to the gpa...

okay, i have started a topic on places to mine with not much luck, so i want to ask what is alaska laws for prospecting. i heard that you can go up to 1/4 mile off any road..... Is this true I Want to know the laws so i don't ruin anything for other prospectors and i want to respect the states laws. Thanks guys ( i contacted the local chapter and the president is currently out of town so i was un able to get an answer from them.)

Does anyone know when episode 9 of Gold Trails will be out On Friday I saw the preview, and the GPAA website said it would be available to view on Saturday. Now it doesn't have a release date. I can't wait to see this episode!

When I enter the GPS coordinates that are in the claims book I get a location near Pine colorado . No where near the homack claim. Does anyone no anything about this Is there a leprechauns cash of gold hidden there Or is this book not at all accurate Any info Thanks

All,
I am taking a trip in June 2015 with my father out to Quincy, California for a week then Wadsworth, Nevada for a couple days. I would like to find a place that will rent a Dry Washer for a couple days when we are in Nevada. I have checked out a place in Reno called Eureka Prospecting Supplies and made several calls leaving voice messages, but no one answers the phone and they will not return my calls. I haven't had much luck finding a place that rents equipment like Dry...

I got out of my car and had my new Fisher tuned up and configured right and wasn't 20 meters from the car before I got a strong signal, and non Iron at that. So I dug for a bit, dug a bit more, and behold, the lead wheel weight for a vehicle.
I found some foil, and a really old can, but I can't say anything worth while. I have it set to find a match head size nugget pretty deep so I guess out of the three most popular metals of the old west I found the least expensive one, I guess bett...

I live in central Illinois and was thinking of making the trip to Ohio to a lease property. The mining guide Land Status says: Private & This is a lease property. There are no gps coordinates only directions. Also no point of contact here. Do I still need permission to prospect on this claim Do I need any permits other than my membership card to start finding yellow there Can I just drive and prospect

Hey all need some help just got my falcon md20 in the mail this week. I have read the instructions and watched all the YouTube video out there I can. I can not seem to get this thing to work and to stay stable. I have the ring a tab before the red line and it will not stable off. If you have a trick please please share. My wife giving me the dirty eye.

Hello fellow members and non-members.
I just felt compelled to pass along how impressed I am with the GPAA as an organization. I received my membership kit as promised (and then some) and could not have been happier with the contents and quality.
