Hey Everyone, I'm new to this and have a few questions. I am contemplating signing up for the NC outing in June. Does anyone know the trailer hookup charges? Also, it says first come first serve for camping spots. What happens if I drive my camper all the way down and there are no spots available?

Joe, I have been to Vein Mountain. There are a limited number of full hook up sites; but plenty of room to park a camper if you don't need a hook up. Otherwise I would call and see how early you can show up and get a hook up.

Thanks for the heads up Tim. I guess if I load up my generator and water tanks, I will be good. Looking forward to panning the real thing instead of Ebay paydirt! LOL

Hey Joe, Got you a little info on the camping at the dig, Full hook-ups are $3.50 a night but I wouldn't count on getting a hook-up there are only 13 according to the LDMA handbook, and unlike LDMA members, GPAA members have to wait till after noon the day before your outing date.

Five day participants: arrive Tues after the noon hour 3 day participants: arrive thursday after the noon hour. But like Tim said there is plenty of primitive camping spaces on both sides of the creek, the side with the office or the side with the bathhouse. Primitive camping should be $1 a night, that covers the use of the bathhouse and other facilities.

Thanks Paul. I appreciate all the help. You wouldn't know if the have a potable water source would you? It would be a lot easier on my fuel bill than humping 75 gallons of water! My truck gets 9 mpg without the trailer!

I'm sure they do, especially on the side where the office is as that's where the hook-ups are, and there's probably a stand pipe over at the bathhouse. and I think there's one near the dump station.

I hope you have a safe trip, and have a great time at the dig.

I'm trying to decide on the Loud Mine in Oct, or Vein Mtn in Nov. Decisions, decisions.
