Hello Dale,

I may be in if you don't mind a detector newb. Just finished a three day weekend crawling all over the Weaver Mining District, metal detecting, without luck. We did however find some pickers by drywashing a bank though we had to run the material three times due to the dampness.

It would be nice to join a fellow detector who is familiar with the GPAA claim locations.

Hi Dale, it looks like you have some detecting buddies lined up, but if you could use another one, I am looking for someone to team up with. I am 66 and don't like going in the desert alone, but I am used to it. I'm going for 5 days so I will arrive on Tues April 28. Last time I was in Stanton was about 10 years ago but I found a 2.5 oz nugget there. It is the photo I use on this site and gives you an idea of what can be found in that area. I am going to rejoin the Weaver group so I can go on their claims too.

I forgot to add that I saw a rattlesnake out last month, so if you have snake gaiters it might be a good idea to bring them.  The snakes don't always rattle and with headphones on, I am listening for the beep and not a hiss.
