GPAA Mining Guide 15650 9
Started by aberro01@gmail.com
I have the 2020 50th anniversary edition mining guide. Is this the most recent edition If not, how do I go about upgrading If it is the most recent, how often do they put out a new guide I find that the guide is a lot more helpful on claim boundaries than the website. Many of the website claims only have an ingress and a center point (sometimes). When they are in the guide, they tend to have more information........or is there some secret menu online that I don't know about where I can acc...

Prospecting in Nevada 929 1
Started by jesusismugen@yahoo.com
Hello my people. I was hoping someone would know of somewhere close to Las Vegas were I can go and prospect. I see some claims listed in the physical Mining Guide but no claims listed online. So does this mean there is no current claims in Nevada I'll be going to Arizona here soon but I'd like to have somewhere closer if possible. I don't need no secret spots, just a place where I can explore and use my metal detector and pan.

Started by spfrood@gmail.com
Am I just overlooking something or is the full claim info not shown on the website It would be nice to see the entire claim coordinates and the whole claim outline on the claim page... That way you could see the entire claim boundary on the google map.

Lincoln National Forest New Mexico 30501 1
Started by rickeyboatright@yahoo.com
I am very new to finding gold. I have no areas within several hours of my location in Texas, but we take a church trip to the mountains of New Mexico every year. What am I allowed to do in the Lincoln National Forest, near Ryodosa. I know I can pan and metal detect, but can I run a non powered sluice, or anything else. I have about 6 weeks before we leave. Any help would be appreciated. I can't find any other info and the BLM and Forest Service will not return my emails.

Alaska claims 29306 2
Started by cedwards105@aol.com
I came to Alaska intending to do some gold prospecting at the claims near Central. To minimize space, I tore the pages out of the mining guide that I needed with the claim information to take with me. Now I'm in Fairbanks and can't find the pages. The online property information doesn't appear to have the Central claims listed. What should I do Maybe someone could send me the coordinates

Do not throw out your cons, pack them out for further processing 36991 8
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
I have been telling people for years they are throwing out their gold by panning the cons out in the river. The pan is the first process, the secondary may be a miller table, and the third might be a retort. I went down to my claim where I let another man dredge, but I instructed him to pan in a large tub and keep what he got. He relied on one of those gold wheel devices so all his cons were left in the tub, perfect for me. I got the cons out and processed them my own way and pulled out ...

Gunnerson County,CO 30001 3
Started by b2144@msn.com
I am going out to Colorado first two weeks of July. I plan was going to be to check out some claims on BLM land to see if they would be worth getting. I did find a reseller of claims and paid what I feel was a good price for a claim. Its in Gunnison County and Spring Creek runs through it. In my research I haven't found anything saying its a bad location. I am happy finding one kicker per 5 gallon bucket of classified dirt, I don't have high expectations, I find panning relaxing and the gol...

rye patch 50428 30
Started by ravecolo@yahoo.com
My son and I are going out to Rye Patch in a couple of months. My question is this. Can someone tell me basically how far west of the reservoir we need to drive or hike to get to an area where we would have a fair chance of finding a couple of small nuggets. We have two machines a Fisher gold bug 2 and a MineLab Equinox 800 so they will find really small pieces but I would love a little direction please. Thanks, Ron

Concern for future recreational gold mining 31231 3
Started by tellis.ellis17@gmail.com
Understood we can each strike out on our own and prospect. For over 20 years I have been member of GPAA . Back then the participation by chapter members kept everyone up to date on properties . If you look at the current topics brought forward most are DATED 2020 or before , that's not good . I have seen a struggle among various state chapters to increase membership numbers but for whatever reason participation had dwindled. Quite frankly it is up to the organization to implement new strategies ...

Alabama Gold Camp 32326 9
Started by alaskaranger05@gmail.com
Howdy to all you prospectors, I have been to Alabama Gold Camp a few times and got just a tad of flour gold. I only spent a couple hours each time. Rented a high banker and also used a small sluice box another time. Little return. I'm sure did not stay long enough. Question is, how much time would anyone continue without much payout. As grandpa said when I was fishing and did not get a bite, 'Probably wasn't hold my mouth right.' A day, a week, thoughts Also, if I wanted to head to anothe...
