0 Replies and 538 Views Directions To Idaho Claims (Boise County)  538  0 Started by  jimwhite Hello! Am planning a trip to Eagle, Idaho around the end of May 2019. Would like to take my daughter, son-in-law, and, 2 grandkids to the His & His 1 & 2 claims for some fun family prospecting. In my mining guide, there are no directions to these claims. If someone can give me directions to these claims so I can plan the trip well in advance, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks! And, safe and prosperous prospecting to you all! Happy New Year!!!

0 Replies and 508 Views California  508  0 Started by  Kay Hello, My husband and I went hiking over at this park. I want you all to be aware that there,is a large tree that has fallen across the pathway leading down to the stream bed. Also, there is structure that is near the waterfall what I could see of it, it was made up of plastic cover and wooden planks ,I did not investigate as I heard voices and backtracked my way out. I did email the Forrest Service, pre what the GPAA told me to do.   Kim Stone

0 Replies and 470 Views Minnesota  470  0 Started by  twins.fan91 I am a retired Marine who recently moved back to Minnesota and I am interested in prospecting here.  I live in Lake City and would like to find places close to me.  I have read about Nugget Lake in Wisconsin quite a bit, but have not been there yet.  I know about the gold rush on the Zumbro river near Oronoco and that that area is on private land.  I am assuming that prospecting would be better above the dam creating Lake Zumbro, but do not know if there are places for the pu...

7 Replies and 4315 Views Do not throw out your cons, pack them out for further processing  4315  7 Started by  crashcrain@gmail.com   I have been telling people for years they are throwing out their gold by panning the cons out in the river. The pan is the first process, the secondary may be a miller table, and the third might be a retort. I went down to my claim where I let another man dredge, but I instructed him to pan in a large tub and keep what he got. He relied on one of those gold wheel devices so all his cons were left in the tub, perfect for me. I got the cons out and processed them my own way and pulled out ...

4 Replies and 3213 Views Rattlesnake Bitten Again  3213  4 Started by  crashcrain@gmail.com   I was on the way out of my claim and the area I was snake bitten earlier this year my mining partner walking a few feet behind me yelled Rattlesnake, and he almost stepped on it because it was crossing the road and I had just walked over it. Having been bitten earlier this year I bought snake gators to prevent it from happening again. Sure enough we get to the truck and there were two sets of puncture marks in my Right gator and I never heard or saw it until he pointed it out. Sure enoug...

8 Replies and 6852 Views Greetings from the Phoenix, AZ area!  6852  8 Started by  bpilguy Hello everyone,     I hope everyone is doing well. I am brand new and decided to buy a membership on a whim because I have always had a interest in gold and panning for it. Also, living in the southwest with mining very common in the area has always peaked my adventure side. Needless to say I am excited to get out and start learning and finding gold. I don't have high expectations and my job allows me 35 days where I don't have to work when I am in the State so I plan on being as acti...

8 Replies and 2440 Views gold rush expeditions  2440  8 Started by  Kenaslan So for the fun of it, I was looking at purchasing a claim. Found claim from gold rush expeditions. How can they set a price on a claim without any studies No geo report no assay no pictures of the inside. Has not been worked in decades. They say a couple of guys could dig it out in a day or two. It would take an excavator a day. Also no exact location is given or ID number. What gives. They sound like snake oil salesmen.

12 Replies and 8663 Views Gold Hog Multi Sluice  8663  12 Started by  tpleibel@gmail.com After working with one of the new Gold Hog Multi Sluices at Loud mine for a few days I was terribly impressed. Now my question is , it does not come with a bilge pump and the one Gold hog offers they say is not really the best model on the market. Anyone have a bran...

1 Replies and 694 Views old abandoned claims  694  1 Started by  Kenaslan I thought I read somewhere that a claim to be kept active, the claim owner must have intent on mining it and do so yearly. What about all the claims that have been sitting without any work for decades. Are they still valid as long as the payments are made every year, or does the fact that there is no intention of ever working them make the claim invalid

1 Replies and 2477 Views Free buckets  2477  1 Started by  Kenaslan I have noticed how most people seem to have purchased 5 gallon buckets from their nearby big box store. However your local grocery store bakery department will give you buckets for free. There are the buckets that the frosting comes in. The handles are nice and comfortable too.
