Hello everybody, Me and my girlfriend are from the Netherlands and going to make a trip of 5 weeks from 24th of july till 28th of august. One of the things i would like to do is a day of goldpanning. But we don't want to do this on a commercial site for tourists. Now maybe we could join some people or someone give us a tip for a nice spot, not too far from the road. We have this planned somewhere around Downieville on the 2nd of august Thanks for a reply

Ok got my guide, opened to page 92, Joyce. Followed google directions as listed in guide, I see in my Google Earth all the roads mentioned BUT I see zero as mentioned in member report, now I tried the gps info, first, Google Earth does not take them as written, so what map online do you all use I convert the coordinates and I get nowhere close to the directions mentioned above..... What am I doing wrong Are all the claims/gps/directions this screwed up Am I screwed up Pretty disapp...

I recently found a gold duster (highbanker ) at a yard sale for $25 and a wheel for $10 all complete and working. the question i have is the gold duster used for the RAW DIRT that traps the gold and heaver stuff in the ripples/carpet once the ripples/carpet is washed then would the wheel be used for pulling the gold out of the PAY DIRT and what about the finer gold would there be another process after the wheel I guess im just trying to find the order and if there additional equipmen...

Greenhorn here... I've noticed on the properties pages other GPAA members giving tips to remember to bring your membership card and permit. Great tip, however how do I obtain obtain or show a property owner that I am a member and how do I obtain a permit. I understand these may seem to be simple and fundamental to experienced GPAA members but to be honest... I just joined and was shocked that there are no properties in Virginia to explore. Where I live near Goldvein Virginia there are a lot of old gold mines in the area. Hello all. I am just getting back into prospecting after many years. Last time I was a GPAA member there was only the annual membership where I received the paper mining guide. This time I opted for the monthly which only gives me access to the online claim guide on which I only see center of claim and ingress points. Is there a way to find out the coordinates of the corner markers of the claims I would like to avoid accidentally claim jumping.
