Great Warranty Service, The Gold Miner Spiral Wheel 5781 1
Started by voodoo
My Gold Miner Spiral Wheel developed an issue last Sunday while I was getting ready to use it to go through some tailings....the motor/gear ground and then stopped. I unplugged it and tried again. No Luck.
I gave Karen a call at Treasure and Gold Products in Hudsonville, MI (Manufacturers of the Gold Miner) and she said go ahead and send it back and we will fix it or replace and send it back to you.
I boxed it up the next day and sent it off.
It was back to me today and loo...

Getting Started (Metal Detecting) 14616 12
Started by nuggetshooter@outlook.com
GETTING STARTED
Getting started metal detecting for gold nuggets is as easy as buying a metal detector and hitting the gold fields right Well the answer to that one can be yes or no. There are many detectors on the market designed for different fields of the metal detecting hobby, although there are a large number of professionals that metal detect for a living. To them nugget hunting, treasure hunting, etc. is much more than a hobby this is a living and full time business to many miners!

Fine gold trick 13402 6
Started by frankn1937@hotmail.com
This is a little trick that I have used to pan fine gold. The surface tension of water has a tendency to make fine gold float.
To overcome this, add a couple of drops of dish washing soap liks Dial, etc. It breaks up the surface tension and the fine gold sinks and 'pans' properly. Frank...-

Frustrated 17999 21
Started by akajam
Hi, I need to vent and ask for help.
I'm in north Idaho, I belong to a local club with several claims, and this is my second summer prospecting. I research, I read everything I can get my hands on, I watch endless YouTube videos, I work hard and try to work smart when prospecting, but except for three small flakes I found my first day out last summer, I'm not finding anything. At all. Even in a creek where I know there's gold - I've seen it in others' pans - but it eludes me.
I am so frustrate...

I need help on what types of equipment to use 6351 2
Started by kyleclay
I need help on trying to determine what kind of equipment I can use or convert to for 25 dump truck loads of sapphire ore I have access to. I would like to go through about 20 five gallon buckets per day. Any advice will be helpful. Just to give you an idea of what I have already done, I used a screen to wash the material about two coffee cups at a time and it took me two days to go through 3 five gallon buckets.

Carrying nuggets in the field 6285 8
Started by tpleibel@gmail.com
I am unfortunately Diabetic. My own fault and genes but I have to test my blood several times a day. The little containers that the test strips come in are plastic and have a seal that makes them air and water tight. I carry one on my pocket to put any nuggets or interesting gems etc. in. If you have friends that are diabetic, they will have lots of these laying around. If not come ask me on a claim, I always carry about 10 or so in my supplies to share.

Gold Pans 9638 6

Good morning folks. In the new Pick and Shovel is an article on the world's best panner's competition in Spain. I have looked high and low for the type of pan they are using. It seems almost impossible to pan 40 lbs of dirt in a little over a minute. Anyone got any info on these pans Thanks

Roaring Camp CA 5547 3
Started by Riggerson
My brother and I will be spending 4 days at Roaring Camp in early September and will not be purchasing a pile of dirt. Anyone have any prospecting tips/suggestions that would help us maximize our chances of success there We'll have gold pans, a few crevacing and digging tools and an Angus M sluice. Traveling from Ohio, I'm just excited to have a real chance to find anything but specks and flakes!

Hi Everyone,
I have recently picked up panning and prospecting. I have been in it for a couple months now and am learning most from the web and a few shows on the outdoor channel. My biggest problem is actually pinpointing the gold. I have gone to a couple places where gold mines are in teh area. But alas, I caome up with nothing. I live in Mesa county (Grand Junction) Colorado. Any advise or even specific areas where people have had luck would be helpfull.

have trouble with finger and hand fatigue while panning
try this,go to hardware store and buy a smooth cupboard handle and mount it on outside of goldpan where it is comfortable to grip with your fingers. this greatly reduces finger and hand fatigue while panning.a handle comes with mounting screws at a cost of about 2 bucks, and helps tremendously try it as soon as you get used to it you'll be greatful for the idea may your pan turn yellow and enjoyment of panning increase.good luck to all

Sun Shade 6776 4
Started by dmcelyea@gmail.com
The wife and I are planning an adventure in prospecting in New Mexico this month. We have been searching for a canopy of some kind to take along as we are both aged and will need some shade. I cannot understand why a canopy costs more than a good tent. It makes no sense. I had a brain fart this morning. 4 ten foot lengths of pvc pipe, a cheap tarp, cheap tent stakes and paracord.
Has anyone tried this method
