Just curious, what does everyone do with their gold that they find?

I'm really curious if anyone has given it to a jeweler to make a piece of jewelry!

    Take care,

    Rob

My wife and I have been lucky enough to win some interesting nuggets and find a couple of nice size gems. We are looking for a quality jeweler and gemologist to help us make some jewelry for gifts. Otherwise I gave an antique bowl I keep the vials in and show them off to friends and family. I am looking forward to finding my first nugget on my own.

You would want to have it melted down and then alloyed for jewelry, unless you get hold of a nice nugget to have done into a pendant, or some big flakes to have done in a holder as a pendant or broach.

Never got enough yet to even consider it, just enough to keep me coming back for more.  Hopefully that changes this coming season.

No one to make jewelry for now anyway...............

My wedding ring is a band containing about a dozen flakes i found.  Makes it real personal.

I provided the gold and inlayed nuggets to make a custom ring to commutate our 25th anniversary.

I also included three diamonds (I didn't find those). That was ten years ago, the nuggets are wearing down some.

The kids will probably fight over it when the time comes.

As Roger points out, when you add something that you have worked hard looking for, It makes it way more personal.

Not to mention what a piece of jewelry does to your wife/girlfriend.

I have never sold anything I may have found.

Just keep putting it in the safe and look at it now and then.

And show it off to friends and family.

I build up a little stash melt it down and sell it. Cash is king. Unless its a premier specimen then its showcase time or possible sell to a collector.

A lady friend had a jeweler put her nuggets in a ring which she had got in a bag of pay dirt from porcupinepaydirt.com:
