0 Replies and 1833 Views For Sale. Gas powered portable 8000lb cable winch  1833  0 Started by  lnagel For Sale.  Portable gas powered cable winch.  Terry Stapp gas powered cable winch (not rope) rated at 8000lbs single line pull.  Excellent  condition.  Was used one season for about two weeks and has been in clean inside storage.   With the correct number of blocks and choker cable it is an excellent winch  for moving large boulders.  I have used up to 6 Warn Blocks at a time, extra cable and choker cable to safely move large builders weighing several tons...

1 Replies and 3584 Views Keene A53 for 3 Dredge.  3584  1 Started by  chris@northpines.us We got a Keene A52 sluice for our 3' dredge. Having only run a Goldwell sluice we have no experience with this new one. We run the Goldwell at /- 5 degrees of slope and it works very well.  My question is, should we run the Keene at the same angle or is there another degree of slope /- that works better  We have a Keene P185 pump with a Honda GX200 motor. We run the motor at about 3/4 throttle and the suction seems to be fine. Thanks for your learned input -----------------------...

5 Replies and 51926 Views inexpensive breathing system  51926  5 Started by  Richard367 Does anyone know an inexpensive setup for dredging so I can dive underwater to dredge. I have a small 2.5 inch dredge. My motor would not support a t-80. I can find them but the mean price seems to be 1,100-1,200 and I would like to get a setup for around half that. Any thoughts would be helpful thx!

1 Replies and 12259 Views 3 lay flat for discharge  12259  1 Started by  chris@northpines.us We have been using a coiled (spiraled) PVC discharge hose on our 3' dredge. It seems to be developing a lot of leaks due to the rocks beating up the hose as they pass to the sluice. It's also really bulky. Would a 3' heavy duty lay flat hose work better Would it be flexible and durable enough to handle the rocks and other stuff the dredge sucks up One big advantage of a lay flat hose is It would certainly be easier to tote the the stream than the hose we are using now.  Thanks for any ...

11 Replies and 22602 Views 3 dredge water  22602  11 Started by  chris@northpines.us We built a 3' dredge. We went with the Keene P185 pump and the Honda GX200 motor. This baby has lots of giddy up, The water velocity is tremendous, so much so it seems to be overwhelming our sluice. I'm afraid we are blowing gold out the end of the sluice and loosing it.  My question is; how do we tame the velocity of the water and still maintain suction at the nozzle We tried slowing down the motor but we lost significant suction.  Is this just something you have to fiddle wit...

4 Replies and 6786 Views Wetsuits  6786  4 Started by  matt@rtmdesigns.com Just got a new wetsuit from TommyD's Sports, fits like a glove! I highly recommend these suits, the customer service on the phone was excellent. I paid about $150 for the same style that would be about $300 or more elsewhere. I am quite pleased with the quality of the suit and the thought of the design.

18 Replies and 24573 Views Homemade 4 build  24573  18 Started by  freddie.beckjr@yahoo.com Ok so here are pictures of my 4 inch dredge build. She is all done and ready for water. The wife named her 'PEBBLES'. She cost $1085.47 not counting the pump which is 2 years old but was bought at Tractor Supply for around $140 so add that to it and its a total of $1225.47 for her. Way cheaper than buying one plus she was made by me and with my design. I ran her last week on a temporary float and the flare and sluice ran great at 1/2-3/4 throttle. Can't wait to get her in a creek in the next wee...

6 Replies and 7516 Views New dredge!  7516  6 Started by  s.britch@lafilm.edu Hiya fellas! Well today, I put some money down on my first dredge! Kind of a weird situation. My friend manages a pawn shop and called me up. He hooked me up, $500! But I have not seen it in person yet. I just have a picture of it. Anyone know what kind of dredge this is I know he said that it's a B&G engine with a Keene sluice. Not sure of the size though. Any help would be appreciated! I won't actually get it until I pay the rest off in full, and I have plenty of time left for that since ...

This fight has been going on for a long time, Why do we keep losing The facts should win the day, but they don't, why What is eventually going to happen every state is going to be reduced to nothing more than panning, every state will resemble the state of Vermont which is hands and pans only. We can't wait for someone else to fight this fight for us, every one of us has to take ...

11 Replies and 18439 Views 2 Backpack Dredge - good idea?  18439  11 Started by  ed@braggfamily.com After 3 years into this, I'm ready to get my first dredge. I've got an opportunity to acquire a Keene 2' backpack dredge for $550, lightly used. Is this worthwhile, or should I just be saving up for a 3 or 4'  Are the nozzles interchangeable  Besides a wet-suit, what kind of equipment do I need besides standard prospecting gear for highbanking/panning   Regards, Ed
