1 Replies and 969 Views Power jet, supply size.  969  1 Started by  c.butters74@gmail.com I've recently upgraded my highbanker to a much larger size, and with that bought a new Honda keen 180 pump. My port supplying water to the dredge is 2in. I'm wanting to dredge with this but I am not sure why there are 2 different size options for the 3in power jet. They offer it with a 1.5in supply port as well as a 2in port, but I'm not exactly sure why, or what difference in performance this change makes Any experienced information on this would be great.

4 Replies and 1542 Views Priming a Keene P185H pump  1542  4 Started by  jim@northpinesgold.com We have a Keene P185H pump with a Honda GX200 motor for our 3' dredge. The motor runs like a champ. Our question is what is the best and easiest way to prime this pump. We fill the intake hose to full capacity with a small electric pump but still it doesn't pump any water. We put the foot valve up stream to try and keep the intake hose full. The foot valve has a one way flapper in it to supposedly keep the water from draining when the pump is shut down and it seems to be working however we...

I dont remember where I saw the study. Can someone point me in the direction where I can re-read those studies by States that show dredging does not have negative affects to river ecosystems. Thank you in advance for showing me some potential studies.... Thank you. Jeff

1 Replies and 1214 Views I'm wanting to clean out stock tanks or ponds using my dredge  1214  1 Started by  tomhardee1963@yahoo.com Hello everybody, I'd like some opinions on using my pumps and hoses from my dredge to clean out the sand and sediment from my father-in-laws stock tanks on his ranch. I have two of the p180 pumps and since the material I have to move is just sand and silt I was wondering if i might get better results if i use a combination of a power jet and a suction nozzle. I'd like to do this for him as he has to hire a guy to come in with an excavator every few years to clean out the sand and silt that washe...

4 Replies and 2137 Views Dredging in Indiana  2137  4 Started by  sydneyruth@yahoo.com Are there any public areas where you can use a dredge and/or sluice box Looking for directions, crossroads, landmarks, etc. We are not from the area so we don't have any idea where to start. Also, anyone know anything about prospecting in the Brown County State Park We've panned in Morgan Monroe, but don't want to haul all of our equipment (pumps and sluice) if we can't find anywhere to use it. Thanks all!

12 Replies and 58470 Views Leveling the Keene 2 Gold Buddy Dredge  58470  12 Started by  civilian_again@yahoo.com I got to use my dredge for the first time this weekend. I noticed that the dredge leans to the intake hose side. I moved the motor over to help counter balance but still have to put a rock on the front corner for additional weight. I take it that this is normal due to the size of the pontoons. I only wish I had somebody around to tell me if I was running it right. The second day I ran the motor slower and kept cleaning the stones off of the classifier plate. I got away more cons the second day. ...

11 Replies and 4961 Views Length of Classifier plate  4961  11 Started by  civilian_again@yahoo.com I saw an article where a guy was going to extend the classifier plate all the way to the end of the dredge sluice. His concern was that rocks rolling down the sluice box would pull the gold out. My Keene 2' dredge has a plate that is angled up. The rocks tend to build up on it so I stop to clean it off. I was thinking of running a solid smooth piece the rest of the way down so rocks would not go across the riffles. What do you think does it matter
