We need some 1-1/2" lay flat hose for a pressure hose.

Any recommendations as to a manufacturer of a good product?

    Thanks -------------------------------

    Christine,

If you dont mind, please describe your dredge set up equipment wise.

Horse power motor, pump size, intake and discharge size
    Land based or floating
    Air type, size
Jet crash box, jet flair, power nozzle, size
    Dredge highbanker combo
sluice box size, over under, side by side triple
and if you can, a pic would be nice

Just a few questions to help us better help you
Being an ole dredger, when someone says "pressure hose", I think of the hose from the discharge of the pump
to the eductor on the jet attached to the flared sluice box, and I'm thinking your setup may be different.
My setup would not use lay flat for pressure, would not last long and to much friction

The red hose is a PVC heavy-duty water discharge hose. The blue hose is a PVC all-purpose, drip irrigation hose.

Colors typically indicate the pressure rating of the hose. Blue=80 PSI max WP rating, red=150 PSI max WP rating.
Red also has UV inhibitors also.

    Hey Bill, good questions.
Our dredge is a 3" size. We have a Keene P185 pump (300 GPM) .The pump is a 2" discharge with a 2.5" intake hooked to a Honda GX 200 motor (6.5 HP I believe).
Our dredge is a land based type. Here in AZ we don't have very many creeks deep enough to run a floating type dredge.
We don't dive so we haven't a need for air.
We have a 3" hose from the nozzle to the sluice box. We also have a 1.5" discharge from the pump to a squirt gun for hydraulicing the creek bottom.
We have a Goldwell 12"x 60" sluice box with a high banker header box that is fed by the 3" hose from the nozzle.
We want a 2" lay flat hose to provide the water (pressure) to the nozzle. It needs to have a high PSI rating as the pump really puts out the water. We also need a 1.5" Lay flat hose for the squirt gun. Once again it needs a high PSI rating.
I hope this describes our setup fairly well.
    Thanks for your input ------------------------------

    Christine,

High PSI and volume for a 3" , shorter 3" = better suction, less pump
Sounds like you have a nice setup
I have never used a "power nozzle", nice in shallow water.
    Jets cant do shallow water
Have much exposed bedrock in your area ?
The squirt gun is a nice feature

Thanks Walter, I learned something today

Not a product endorsement but I get both blue and red at my local harbor freight with the connections on for a bit cheaper than most places selling bulk hose. Some I've had for a few years with no problem but I take care with them after each use, and don't store them in a hot vehicle for days/weeks etc.
