Hello, I have a few questions as a new member. I just purchased a 3 year membership to the GPAA and plan on taking the wife and kids out to a claim this weekend to camp and pan a little for the first time. I am wondering if it is ok to have a campfire and maybe roast some marshmallows and hot dogs

I posted in the Claims forum.. but i was wondering about the Lucky Buck and Buckys Nowhere claims in Mariposa county.. (well any claim really with this issue) these two are HERE on the ONLINE guide!!. but they arent in the GPAA paper manual... anyone know if you can still visit a claim, if its only in ONE of these online guide and the manual we get in mail).... Any insight would be appreciated much.. thnx tad

So i just recently joined the gpaa, currently live in Washington state. Any good claims around the camas area I currently have a sluice box, about 10 gold pans and a dredge that i built last year but needs fixing, going solo prospecting aswell. Do most or all LDMA or GPAA claims have a place to park an RV I found a couple of claims outside Las Vegas (Aces & Eights) was one. Can One park an RV there or around there. We are also going to stop around southern Utah, Just looking for some info on finding claims where we can park for a few days. Thanks in advance for the help

Heading to the Rock and Gem show in Quartzsite for a week or two this Friday. Driving down from Montana through Denver Colorado and head back via Navada. My wife and I are new tho prospecting and are wondering if there are any good places along the way to prospect and rock hound. I have Gold Bug, Multisluice, a few pans classifiers and a hammerdrill. I found a ledge or out-cropping of quartz and would like to evaluate it. It is in El Dorado county, Ca and is over-grown with a lot of brush and poison oak. It appears to be either half buried boulders or an outcropping that is exposed in a small gulch. I have a Garrett AT-Gold and a pin pointer. Can I scan the quartz with either of these to see if any gold is present I also have a sniper coil for the AT-Gold which I could try. Once I clear the brush I'm planning to scrape and brush the m...

I'm so new but have friends that have taken me under their wing but may need to visit Arizona claims by myself in a trailer. I'd like to know which claims should I go to to crevice and detect. I like what Kevin Hoagland has to say about Solider Boy and Double JJ as well as Lucky Linda.
