New to gold prospecting - Live in Denver 1247 0
Started by ralejandro1985@gmail.com
Hello, I just joined GPAA and I live in Denver and have recently gotten the gold fever. I have invested over a grand in equipment. I have a gold cube with the banker, a gold bug pro metal detector, and a bunch of other stuff. Is there anyone that is really experienced that can show me the ropes Please let me know, thanks! -Rob

Colorado Update, now is the time to start planning a trip 1408 2
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
I was in Telluride 'To Hell You Ride' last weekend, the head of the San Miguel River was still hanging with ice, but the water has slowed and cleared. I am going to be taking a member to some of our claims, and my personal claim, plus recreational rich claims. Our window this year is from now to about the second to third week of September. Be safe, the water is still fast and snow is already falling at high elevation. Bring your wet gear, cold weather gear, warm weather gear, mosquito repelle...

Claims Guide vs Website Coordinates 3113 13
Started by theasthmatics@aol.com
On the site, it gives totally different GPS coordinates for the ingress/center mark than what is in the mining guide (2018) for the Crimson Dove claims in Utah. The website coordinates (which, unless I'm mistaken, only give the ingress and center -- no corners) put the claim in the Fishlake National Forrest, close to the Fremont Indian State Park, right in Mill Creek The guide coordinates put it about 20 miles southeast in the middle of a swath of desert. Which is correct I've got a c...

Dredging In Idaho 1305 1
Started by larryrix69@gmail.com
Hey Guys New Lifetime member here, I have recently joined the GPAA as a lifetime member and I am looking for a claim that has good water access for a 4' floating suction dredge. I am from northern Utah and its looks like Idaho is going to be my best bet for dredging. I am open to any suggestions or advice you may have to offer as to a good GPAA location that can accommodate this type of prospecting.. I look forward to hearing from you guys and perhaps meeting some of you in the local area soon...

New Equipment 1904 2
Started by anthony.ingersoll2@outlook.com
Good evening, I just got a new piece of equipment delivered today via Amazon. I kicked the bucket so to speak on this piece of equipment. I caved in and got the Gold Rush Nugget Bucket. The bucket is not all that bad, to be honest. Albeit being a new invention there are areas of improvement. The Gold Pan its self is eh so so. But then again I have my personal preference on the type of pan. One of the major benefits though is the fact that everything you need is contained within the bucket...

Equipment 1660 2
Started by anthony.ingersoll2@outlook.com
I have been prospecting for a bit with just a gold pan, classifiers and the like. I now have decided that it is time to add some more equipment to the arsenal. I have been going through various youtube videos dealing with the blue bowl versus the miller table and the spiral wheel. However, the reviews seem like they are split down the middle 50/50. So my question is this; which one would you recommend and why Also, in regards to the videos; if you could post some links so I can check them out, ...

Started by n2sound8435@sbcglobal.net
I'm looking into buying a portable 12v battery power supply for my Keene Mini Max, Would like to find out if anyone has good advice and recommendations on a product brand that's not to pricey but dependable, small, lightweight for hauling in a hunting backpack and will run two 12v 1250GPH water pumps for a good 4 hours or more.
Best,
EJ

New Report from Colorado 1464 0
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
I went down with the BLM to our claim,'I call the walk into hell is easy, it's much harder to find your way out.' But if you want to find the good gold then you travel where most won't. Once you get there you realize it is paradise. River conditions were awful, feet higher then just a few week ago and the head of the river and snow are forming a glacier that is going to break loose at some point this summer, the main melt has not even started as of yet. I am going to give a serious compl...
