NOTICE: Active GPAA Member Chapters 10406 19
Started by dixiedesertdigger@gmail.com
So I notice under the Community Section there are only 5 'Active GPAA Member Chapters listed. But I recall when I purchased my GPAA Membership there were a ton listed, I think there are some (alot more than 5) also listed in the Miner's Guide. Frankly, I think I recall choosing to have some portion of my membership fees to be allocated to a chapter near me that appeared on the list (I vegely recall) but have never heard from any chapter since. After attempting to gain knowledge here, on a claim ...

BLM Permits? 4068 1
Started by chris@northpines.us
So a good friend of mine has given me permission to prospect on his claim.
Am I responsible for getting any permits from BLM or Forest Service to work on this claim or is the claim owner (my buddy) responsible for these
I'm just a casual prospector here in Arizona.
I don't want to get sideways with either of these agencies and get my equipment confiscated. I've heard some horror stories about these guy's.
Thanks --------------------------------
Chris

Hardrock Mining in Northern Washington State 7506 4
Started by kevin@gillas.com
I have access to a 1900's hard rock mine. I've been through the tailing piles, assed several locations plus have old surveys of the area that have shows .05 oz/ton. There is quartz veins that have been worked, several pyrites including arsenic and lead, there are hot rock everywhere, only after breaking up the hot rock there is nothing. The audits are over a 100ft. I've found no history on what was found on this claim. The claim is not road accessible, so I do n...

With the election results now final, we can look forward to having a government that will be 'more' for our interests. The dredging issue should be appealed so that it will go to the US Supreme Court, and there with the new justice being appointed, it will have a great chance to prevail. Whether you personally like the guy or not Trump is going to do good things which will benefit us. I for one don't care what the guy said or did in his past as a private person. Thats the PAST. We need to look f...

Sluice versus Suction dredging 8344 5

To Dredge or Sluice
I have worked a few GPAA claims. The latest one out of Boise outside of Boise. I meet the manager of the Boise GPAA claim. He was a great guy and took time off of his dredging to help out.
Is a suction dredge worth the money My existing sluice only picked up a few flakes over several hours of sluicing from the bank area. It is hard to sluice out of the creek with a hand sluice.
1 1/2, 2 or 3' sluice
Thanks for all the hard work...

Which is best for Nugget Shooting, Bahde 10-14 or Hoppy 1-4? 7144 8
Started by dixiedesertdigger@gmail.com
So regarding my Gold Basin Arizona trip this month, I early on in my planning selected the Bahde 10-14 Claims out of the Claims Guide and have completely been focused on it in my research. Today I went back to make sure I hadn't missed any Claims we have in the Lost Basin. Well I didn't miss any Lost Basin Claims but I did somehow miss the Hoppy 1-4 Claims in the Gold Basin. So, now I am wondering if anyone would have any advice for someone (me) who is planning on Nugget Shooting with both a VLF...

NEW POST: GPAA Forums Strategy 8775 7

I get nothing but Crickets on so many of my posts LOL... So I just keep talking to myself until someone else joins in... Conversation on the GPAA Forums requires a good strategy. Perhaps I post bad questions i.e. Anyone in or near SW Utah who Metal Detects I mean, I already knew there probably wasn't LOL... OR, Any intel or feedback on the Bahde Claims in Gold Basin Arizona Well, that was actually a good question in which a few members, mostly new like me had some intel. Anyways, if anyone is...

I'm a GPAA member in Arizona and I am a high banker using a Goldwell Sluice. I have been reading my 2014 Mining Guide. I am wanting to work some of the GPAA Claims here in AZ. My question is, does my membership in GPAA include a blanket notice of intent and/or Plan of Operation for all GPAA claims in AZ Or, do I personally need to file for these permits for each claim I intend to work Just curios about what my membership includes. You got your gear, your rifle, and you know exactly where you are going and are doing nothing but pussy-footing it down to a crick . But all of a sudden at 1/2 mile per hour your four wheeler hooks a rock, that sends it into a rut, and sends the 4 wheeler straight up the side sending you flying. You remember the pain of your head and back hitting the rock,,,,
And then you come too with you pinned under the 4 wheeler with it still running, You manage to turn ...

Dissolving Ore? 34424 6
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
So I have some medium grade ore, real hard rock stuff, not the soft stuff you get in Georgia or the Carolina's. I by hand pulverized these rocks down and then placed the sands into Muriatic acid thinking it would dissolve most of it down. I placed it in fresh acid 3 separate times over a month. Once I panned the remaining tailings I had a mixture of gold and pyrite, about 1/3 gold and 2/3rds pyrite, but now I am stuck.
What is the best way to separate the two
