Hello all, I am new to the gold thing. Taken this on with my son, so we can spend more time together. We are both getting the fever and learning as we go. We had not found much out in the rivers we have been at, so I signed up as a member since we will have access to claims. Does anyone know how to find what claims, as a member, I will have access too? I am in the North Ga area. Where do I got to get the locations?

Hi welcome, the mining guide has a few Georgia locations.

Buchanan lease in the area of GA-120 and US-27 The 120 west 3.8 miles to claim

The Crisson Goldmine. A pay to dig area 2.5 miles No. of Dahlonega on the 19 connector

Allatoona Lake Bartoow & Cherokee counties...It looks like a 'no' everything site. Pan & Shovel only

That's all for Georgia in the Mining guide, maybe someone here has been to these claims, and can tell you what's up.

Other than that, a Spring vacation in the California motherlode country might be an idea.

    Thanks Adam, I appreciate it!

You mentioned a "Mining Guide" is this a booklet, if so where can I find it to review?

Hopefully someone out there in Ga can share their input as well on the claims?

    Scott

Since you joined, the kit with the guide should be on the way to you.  Everything pretty much east of the rockies is leases or private property rather than "claims".  Brad lamb here on the forum is a good source for your area.   Welcome, good luck with your searches, find some gold and enjoy getting out.

    Scott,

The LDMA has three camps within 2 hours of each other, Loud Mine, Oconee and Vein Mountain. Oconnee and Vein Mountain may be closed until spring, but, the Loud Mine (Cleveland, GA area) is open year round.

Our Augusta, GA chapter of the GPAA has a lease in SC that we chip in for each year. I hear the Buchanan Lease has some good gold. Right now, as you know, there is little water, so recirc or dry washing is about it, unless you have a holding pond.
