The final of the three eastern U.S. GPAA Gold & Treasure Shows wraps up this weekend at The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, North Carolina, open Saturday and Sunday at 10a.m. This family friendly event is open to the public and is great for anyone interested in gold, silver, precious metals, coins and relics, metal detecting, prospecting, rocks and gems, and virtually all outdoors activities.

For those wanting to learn how to pan for gold, the Gold Prospectors Association of America will have more than 30 feet of panning troughs loaded with real gold where expert panners will be available to help you hone your skills, and everything you find is yours to keep.

More than $10,000 in prizes will be given away in the major prize raffle from the following sponsors: Garrett Metal Detectors, Minelab Metal Detectors, Roaring Camp Mining Co., Gold Cube, Aurora Mining Products, Kellyco Metal Detectors, Felix Paydirt’s Gourmet Gold, Keene Engineering, and Columbia River Mining Supplies. Saturday’s raffle will take place at 4p.m. and Sunday’s raffle will be at 3p.m. You must be present to win. Each paid admission comes with one raffle ticket. Additional tickets will be available for purchase, and all proceeds will benefit local non-profit organizations such as the GPAA Chapters who have so graciously volunteered their time to help make this show possible.

Whether you’re just browsing the show floor or you’re in the market to take your hobby of gold and treasure hunting to the next level, the GPAA Gold & Treasure Show in Concord will be packed with vendors displaying hundreds of items sure to catch your eye. Featured vendors include: AU.L. LLC, Blue Ridge Fine Art, Carolina Prospectors, Columbia River Mining Supplies, Dreamail, Eastern Outdoor Expeditions, Gold Getters, Jim's Gem & Gold, Martin Prospecting / M&J Coins, Minelab, Smokefoot, and Wilson Brothers Prospecting. Several vendors will be demonstrating their equipment to give you a hands on experience.

Daily seminars are included with your admission to the show and cover topics such as: Metal Detecting Tips, Fine Gold Recovery, Basic Geology and Understanding the Land Around Us, and more. These seminars are conducted by some of the most knowledgable people in the prospecting and mining community including: Kevin Hoagland, Mike Pung, and Tim Libel.

Also scheduled to speak is Michael Bennett aka Nugget Noggin - Popular YouTube Prospecting personality. His seminar will begin each day at 1p.m.

The Concord GPAA Gold & Treasure Show is your jumping off point to the exciting world of gold, gem, and treasure hunting. The Gold Prospectors Association of America will be on hand offering memberships into the largest prospecting club on earth, and local GPAA chapters will also be set-up to answer questions about how you can get started finding gold and treasure locally in North Carolina.

 

Doors open at 10a.m. both Saturday Oct. 22nd and Sunday Oct. 23rd. Active and veteran military receive free admission. Kids 12 and under also get in free.
