Just wanted to say HEY as a greenhorn new to the site;  I have been lurking for some time now and figured it best I join and pay my respects and my dues since I have learned so much from the public area.

I joined GPAA today with a 3-year membership at around noon my time, they shipped my packet by days end and I am super ecstatic;  Not often do you find an outfit that actually delivers when they say they will.  Super+++points

I have put in umpteen hours researching GPAA and finally decided to join ... my financial analyst (aka: my wife) is relatively on board.

I am localized in the Bay Area, California

I have lots of  "book knowledge", a tremendous amount of ambition, I do believe I have "the fever", and tons of projects always working, so if anyone is willing to chime in to a new greenhorn and point him in the right direction I would be most appreciative.

    Cheers!

Hey Corey, Welcome to the GPAA family. I hope you and your family enjoy your time prospecting and getting out and enjoying the great outdoors.

My one suggestion to help you get started is to hook up with one of the local chapters. There are 15 chapters in CA. They are listed in the full chapter directory under the Community button at the top of the page.

You will meet a good bunch of folks who will be able to give you some advice and point you in the right direction.

I know in the Chapter I belong to there are a great group of people who have fun and share their knowledge freely with newcomers. we have monthly meetings and activities and set up group outings at different locations.

    Good luck and happy prospecting!

Corey, welcome to the family. Like Paul mentioned, joining a chapter is a good idea or several for the matter. I used to belong to the East Bay Prospectors before I left California. They have monthly outings, and usually members are getting together e very weekend for some prospecting. Also a lot of the chapters in California have their own claims as well as the GPAA claims. Good Hunting out there.

Welcome im also new and just moved from hayward out to the valley. Tons to learn but everyone here has been very helpful. If weather is decent im heading out this weekend. I took a panning and sluicing class in Jamestown when I first got started it helped a lot.

    Good hunting

    James,

By moving to the valley, you are that much closer to the mother lode.
Now, no fight to get across the Livermore valley and over the Altamont, unless your still working on this side.

Where you headed out to, don't be specific, generally.
