1 Replies and 3768 Views Video Uploads and Online Publications  3768  1 Started by  senorclay2@gmail.com I just read an issue of Gold Prospectors magazine using the new Online Publications feature. When I got used to the way to navigate and size the pages, I soon got the hang of it. I like it a lot. I do receive the magazine and will continue to do so for when I might want to review an article in the field where I might not have access to the internet. But, using the new feature was nice too. I highly recommend it. The opportunity to post video files is going to be interesting. I look forward ...

I do not believe it has a way to set the throttle to a steady setting while shoveling in the dirt. Does anybody have experience with this and some advice for a rookie   Thank you!  Chip

My wife and I are going to be pulling up stakes within the next year and plan to travel around to all ...

9 Replies and 8901 Views Location, Location, Location? (Asks the greenhorn)  8901  9 Started by  cahorders@gmail.com I'm a very new GPAA member living in south Alabama and I've never found a speck of gold.  I'm biting at the bit to take a trip to the mountain area around GA, SC and NC - about 6 to 12 hours away.  I went once years ago (armed with a toy gold pan) and spent the whole day just trying to find a spot.  I felt like a dog sniffing over hours for the perfect spot to do its business.  I found a river bank off of a main road filled with garbage and debris and tried my ...

But the one word topic 'Fire' next to Scott Bar information category kind of makes me wonder. There are regular GPAA claims in that area too.  And look at the long line of Duisenburg Auction item postings. Us regular GPAA members have cash too you know

3 Replies and 6131 Views Need help with battery selection  6131  3 Started by  rhunt01@ius.edu Hello: I am building a sluice that will be fed with a Johnson 2200 GPH 12 V pump; it draws 7.5 amps.  Does anyone know reasonably priced deep cycle (or regular) battery that will run this pump for 6 hours or so.  Realistically, I will run the slice 6-8 times a year.  So, I don't know if I really need a deep cycle battery for this number of recharges per year.  Maybe I do  Thanks ahead. 4 Replies and 4794 Views Intro and Report  4794  4 Started by  flydrifter1@gmail.com My name is Scott, I joined at the last show in Mesa. I have been collecting gear for over a year, doing some research...stuff. After joining I started putting my stuff together and trying to work out bugs and how things run. A couple of weeks ago I took my son and finally went out to a claim. I just dug up a couple of buckets of dirt from spots/areas that looked good from what I have researched. I am really looking to get out with some of you so I can learn. I brought the buckets home and r...

1 Replies and 6505 Views Spriggs Property Ohio - any tips  6505  1 Started by  rhunt01@ius.edu Hello: I am planning my first visit to a GPAA site - the Spriggs property near Lucasville, OH.  I will only have about 6 hours at the site.  Anyone been there who can give some advice on a work plan.  I have a small sluice.  Since it is on a large river I am concerned if there is enough flow and drop--otherwise, shovel and pan.  Any tips on good spots that might lead me to my first nice flake or nugget would be appreciated.  Thanks
