BLM OFFICER of the Year 5593 2
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
I want to give incredible thanks and appreciation to a BLM officer people have nicked named '7 Clips'. He got the nickname because he caries 6 clips and one in the pistol, but I have never called him that and I personally think it is an insult. His name is Ted and he works in Colorado where my claims are. He comes down and checks on us to make sure we are not trespassing and sometimes just to talk. If you are breaking the law he is going to address it certainly. Over the last few years our organ...

'Greenhorn' Explorers 3590 1

Hello all!
My wife and I decided to renew our membership after a 2yr hibernation from the site. While I wouldn't exactly call us greenhorns to mining we are to this site. Looking forward to possibly meeting some of you at some outings or just an afternoon of mining. Our main area is NorCal and Southern Oregon. I was thinking that there were more outings in the past in NoCal but I'm not seeing any scheduled for this summer Normal We are both gold hounds and could dig in a creek, ri...

Hardrock Mining in Northern Washington State 5253 2
Started by kevin@gillas.com
I have access to a 1900's hard rock mine. I've been through the tailing piles, assed several locations plus have old surveys of the area that have shows .05 oz/ton. There is quartz veins that have been worked, several pyrites including arsenic and lead, there are hot rock everywhere, only after breaking up the hot rock there is nothing. The audits are over a 100ft. I've found no history on what was found on this claim. The claim is not road accessible, so I do n...

Prospecting in GA. 5322 1
Started by hunterjoe@comcast.net
Hello! I am heading to GA in a few weeks . My daughter lives in Southwest GA. I would like to do some panning but understand it is hard to find areas that are legal to do so. Looking maybe south of the Buchanan lease. I have a limited time up there so I have one day to play. I am hoping for a location or someone to hook up with . I will have a Monday,Tuesday or Wednesday to play. I will also have my son in law with me. He has been working to much and would like to see him have some fun . Thanks...

The Finest of flour gold, lots of it, but how to process? 34634 14

You get a bucket of cons from dredging with Gold Hog Matting, it's black sands and flour, besides a Black Magic what do you think the best way it is to remove the super fine gold

The greenest of greenhorns. 7266 11
Started by johnsonblake8814@yahoo.com
I'm brand new to prospecting and I'm planning to spend 45-60 days this summer touring the western US tent camping and prospecting. I'd like to talk with someone who has a good deal of experience and enjoys imparting their knowledge to newbies. I have tried to get in touch with a couple people locally (in Texas) but I got the impression that my questions were so simple or obvious that I was just a burden. SO, is there anyone in this forum who would *enjoy* helping me learn. My parents bought me t...
