3 Replies and 358 Views Eldorado County CA Panning Outing 4/10 and 4/11  358  3 Started by  ki6rcm98@gmail.com If anyone is interested in joining me and one other gold panner for a couple day trips please contact me. The outings will occur Friday, 4/10 and Saturday, 4/11. We will likely start from my house in El Dorado Hills, CA and hike about 1 hour down to a remote spot on the South Fork of the American River. It is a pretty good spot to pan/sluice and has some easily reached fast water for a sluice box setup. I will be detecting in the area. Saturday will likely be a day trip to one of the GPAA c...

0 Replies and 151 Views Metal Detector Outing in El Dorado County, Week of 3/23?  151  0 Started by  ki6rcm98@gmail.com I now have some spare time and would like to team-up with some detector enthusiasts. I have access to the areas south of the south fork of the American river and east of Salmon Falls road. Anyone interested in some nugget/etc detecting some time during the next week, contact me via email or this forum. You would need the ability to handle a moderately difficult hike of about 2-3 miles along trails. Elevation gain/loss of about 600 feet. It would be a day trip of 4-6 hours so snacks, water, ...

8 Replies and 10403 Views Goldvein, Virginia  10403  8 Started by  ed@braggfamily.com Hi Everybody. My name is Ed, and I've been into gold prospecting for the past 3 years. It all started from my interest in gold when I moved to Virginia in 2000 and found out our property is right in the middle of the Gold Belt of Virginia. Within a 2 mile radius, there are listed 18 old mines. I also happen to have a nice creek that starts up at one of the old mines and runs through my property. I've gone down a few times and tried panning in the creek, with no luck yet. We also have tons of red...

3 Replies and 428 Views Old Mining Guide  428  3 Started by  sennelh@yahoo.com Looking for a claim that was in an old issue of mining guide. Don't remember the exact year. Around 1992 or 1994 there was a claim in Georgia that was Army Corp of Engineers as lead title of claim. Small creek that had a dam across it at bridge. My first flake of gold was here. My stepson is interested in seeing that claim. Trying to get him interested in prospecting and showing him place where I found my first would make his day. Thanks Lennes Hebert Abbeville, La.
