Was in the area of shadow lode area yesterday. A lot of tailings piles. The low land areas are pretty much a waste of time. Not much there at all. We talked to some members that were digging the higher hillsides and they were doing really well. We found 13 small specks not worth a picture imhp! 15 buckets from several locations through a dry washer and 13 tiny pieces. The drive in this long and rough if you go in through geenies trail. We took a wrong turn and ended up following the railroad track to a small road where others were digging. 138 is the better access. We will definitely be going back after getting some education about this claim. The better gold is higher up on the hillsides. Some reports say that there is gold everywhere but that was not my experience. Do your research!

A little difficult to find markers.

I did not have any luck with the ATX or the GB2. I only found some hot rocks. Most of the markers were burnt or missing. I met some nice people who were very informative, they were also prospecting on a different claim. They mentioned that this area was no good for detectors. I mostly found bullets and 22 shells.

The Inland Empire Prospectors and Miners had their Dec 2017 outing at the East side of OT 2. Eight members were there running dry washers mainly. We found some gold and everyone had a great time.

A few flakes is better than no flakes at all.

Went out a couple of weekends ago and worked the lower Crystal, the one that crosses the tracks. Found a few flakes while cleaning the floor of some bedrock. Not to bad for a couple of hours of me time.

Went back today and detected at least 40 lead fragments, bullets and primers. I was right smack on the SE Crystal Claim marker and pretty upset to see a whole bunch of busted beer bottles and busted whiskey bottles,I hope it's not from the gpaa members, I suspect it could be offroaders passing through at some point, I must have counted about 5 offroaders passing through above the marker.im gonna continue to go, I know I'm bound to find some nuggets,I'm gonna try and hit the jojo lode next time.
