lots of gold throughout the claim
Step 1 of 1
lots of gold throughout the claim
Good gold is found throughout the claim. Dig in flood material on either side of the stream. You can also find gold just about anywhere in the in the inflow canals and old stream bed.
Dig down through the light material until you begin to see cobble and rocks. Test frequently as you dig down to make sure you are still in the gold.

Greenhorn found some shiney
Great place with easy access. Didn't see any claim marker but GPS said I was good. You can camp right on the creek. Test panned a few spots and found a bit of color in each pan. Worth going back to work it again

Yes, there really is gold in Lucky Buck

Step 1 of 2
Yes, there really is gold in Lucky Buck
Spent the day at Lucky Buck this weekend and we decided to concentrate on the creek area and flood gold. The water in the creek was perfect this trip to run the A52S river sluice which requires a good amount of fast moving flow. Recent heavy flooding from the wet winter has brought some new life and material to the creek. It looks like there was about 10+ feet of fast moving water at some point and it even blew the bank out in several places we walked. The thorny berry brambles have mostly been destroyed by the flood as well making access much nicer for now. After spending a few hours in the morning test panning and finding 1 or 2 pieces in a pan here and there we found a promising looking area were we located a trending pay streak with 7-10 specs per shovel in a pan. After lunch we spent about 3 hours of production in the sluice. When the water stops flowing later in the summer we will return with the Mini-Monster and a recirculation setup continue the adventure.
