Ran about 15 buckets of material through a small backpack sluice and found the gold in the photo...not bad for a cold day in Alaska. Creek was raging from snow/rain runoff, so we stayed on the east side of Resurrection Creek south of the Resurrection Pass Trail footbridge. I started out 1/2 inch classifying the first 10 buckets, but realized I was losing a LOT of gold 😕 by not prewashing the damp material. So I began discarding the large rocks and ran my material without classifying. I more than doubled my gold recovery! I had to leave for Texas, only wishing I had more time at this location. Very limited supplies nearby. Make sure your auto is topped off with fuel and bring plenty of food. Primitive camping available in the area as well as Porcupine Campground in Hope. I believe there’s nuggets to be found here.
