Peters Creek: State of Alaska Recreational gold panning, mineral prospecting, or mining using light portable field equipment are allowed without any permit. Also, you can obtain a permit from the DNR to use a small suction dredge. Primitive camping is available in the area. Map and information on Peters Creek Recreational Mining Area

lots of bed rock sticking out. i spent the day with me and my girlfreind digging up stream of the bed rock and cracking pieces off and cleaning out the sand down to clay. milk the clay

Lots of bedrock for crevicing.
Plenty of fine gold in the moss.
Have been there 3x and always find plenty. Stay in the public area because there are claims all around it.
