trying to find areas that i can dredge in the fairplay area that are a gpaa claim or a claim that is a shared usage. also looking for a area that is dredging permitted in the area. if any one knows of a private claim owner that will allow a weekend, or one week use. thanks John Leahy

    Hey John,

Sorry I didn't login and see your query sooner...

Suction dredging here in Kolorado (The People's Republik of) now that the godless, Commie Democrats have taken over is very, very hard to do... Oh, getting worse too.

First, the Colorado state Dept. of Parks & Wildlife limits suction dredging from only 1 April thru 30 September. Got the let the little helpless trout have 1/2 the year to spawn, even if you only create a couple of 10 or 20 feet dredge holes on thousands of miles of rivers, creeks & streams in the state. Add to that most the trout (which I love to catch, eat) are non-native, invasive Rainbows and Browns. Foreign invaders. Only a select few native Cutthroat trout species are native, normal, natural here...

BLM has bent over to the eco-Nazis endlessly, and now to do ANY motorized or mechanized recovery/mining ops.....including suction dredging......you must file a Notice of Intent, a Plan of Operations and negotiate a reclamation bond and put money up with them. THEN, you can follow your "plan" and dredge.....or high bank.......or whatever you both agreed to...

So, the VAST majority of claim owners & clubs haven't done all the totally B.S. red tape, paperwork stuff...........exactly what BLM wanted... So, very, very few folks can dredge now.

I know the Colorado Gold Camp (CGC) here in the Buena Vista & Granite & Balltown areas on the Arkansas River have several claims permitted for motorized ops.

Also, BLM leases a property about 13 miles South of Salida, just South of Wellsville on the Ark called the Pointe Bar area. For a $25 permit you can dredge there for 2 years from 1 Apr thru 30 Sept.

Maybe the Gold Prospector of Colorado.....the GPOC......has some dredgable claims. Check their web site.

So, the eco-Nazis and their lapdog agencies are making prospecting/mining almost impossible.

    Good luck. HTH,
