I've wanted to do a Llano trip since I found out about them. Time was never on our side for that one.

I've been to Freeport, Matagorda and Aransas Pass with the detector. Bunch of cans, bottle caps and a few nuts and bolts.

If I remember correctly. South Padre Island the week after spring break is probably a good place to run a detector for lost treasures.

Any beach after Spring Break is good! I find a lot of quarters in Port Aransas near the pier and the volley ball courts. Areas in front of condos and apartments are generally good too. You will need a good salt water machine to get at the gold and silver rings and jewelry in the surf. That's where the real finds are at on any beach. Keep in mind that while Spring Break is good the Mexicans from Northern Mexico in the Nuevo Laredo area vacation in Corpus and Port Aransas the week after Easter. I personally prefer South Padre but since I do not have a salt water machine I can find a lot in Corpus and Port Aransas without the long drive to South Padre.
