<style type="text/css"> P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } </style>  In the seemingly unending saga of California’s statewide ban on suction dredge mining, the State of California has petitioned the California Supreme Court to overturn the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District decision in favor of Brandon Rinehart.

The state has also requested that the published decision by the appellate court be “depublished.”

The petition is unfavorable to miners who successfully petitioned the appellate court to have the opinion published when Rinehart’s conviction for dredging without a permit was overturned in late September.
