Hey Dan,

How are the Ospa sites for metal detecting? I like to learn more about the southern claims I'm in the Akron area but I'm willing to travel so if you ever need help let me know.

Been prospecting in OH for alot of years. Found gold ,pickers n flour, in Joes Run, behind Zanesville High. Used to take students there. Panned along US 50 from Hillsboro to Chillicothe. Found mainly flour, n lots of ruby sand. Stopped wherever a creek crossed road. Found pickers n flour in Raccoon Creek in Gallia n Jackson counties. All of it glacial drift. Best after heavy flooding where sand n gravel deposited. Good bit of black sand but not always.

I've panned along the Kokosing River. Placier is there. I wish I had the experience then that I have now, I might have walked away with more than the flakes I caught. This summer I hope to be able to visit there again. Maybe we could do a meet up?

Check water levels at the Swank before you go. If it hasn't rained for 3 or 4 days it will probably be low enough.

I live within a few miles from the places you have mentioned and would be willing to follow along and willing to help you learn more if needed. Hit me up if this sound like something you would be interested in. Good Luck

Hi there, I just joined GPAA, just sent off my membership form for OSPA. I live in Cincinnati, used to prospect in California and am just getting into the Ohio gold scene. Looking to connect with local folks!

Welcome aboard, I live in Indiana. You are very close to the GPAA claims and dig sites, there is a big get together over Labor day you should go to. https://www.facebook.com/events/ . I hope this link works for you.

Ricky
I live in Franklin County, Indiana
Are you close?
Sorry I can't make it to the Buckeye get together today. Still recovering from knee surgery and can't drive that far...3 1/2 hours. I'm getting around better though. Have you ever dipped your pan in the east fork of the White river?
I've always found some color.
