Richard-  Don't know if you have hooked up with any of the Portland chapter members or not.  If not, might give Robert R. a call, one of the state directors and he lives up there, contact in the magazine and P&S.

Brownsville is a little far for you, I would think.  (about halfway between Salem and Eugene.)

Good to hear, you will be just in time to be put to work at the show in March.  Sounds like our chapter is going to be there with a booth, hope to meet up.

    Hey Richard,

Still looking to meet fellow prospectors? I've been prospecting the Molalla river for the last year and have found a little color here and there. Also the little north fork Santiam and the upper Santiam. Found gold at each place. Let me know if your still interested and maybe we can get out and find some gold.

Anyone on the coast near seaside? New to the area with lots of free time. Would like to know where the local club is or fellow prospectors?

Brownsville will be up Quartzville on June 7th for our meeting and an outing in the public areas as well as a short cleanup on the GPAA claims there.  Will be meeting at the gravel storeage area on the other side of the creek just past the 20 mile marker.  The bridge is JUST past the mile marker and easy to miss.  I'll be there around 8 AM.  Look for a camo Cherokee.  We are looking into adopting those claims since we are down here and closer to keep an eye on them, and trying to keep them signed.

    Arthur,
I will absolutely try to make it up there to help with clean up and meet some other GPAA members. Am I correct in thinking that dredge season opens June 1st up at Quatzville? If so I may plan on spending the whole weekend up there dredging given I get my permit by then.

Since I don't dredge, I'm not up on the dates that anything opens up, but I THINK it is June 1st up there.  You would have to look on the DSL site for the exact date.

Look forward to seeing you and any others that make it.  The more hands cleaning up, the more time to play in the dirt.  Have found color on 2 of the 3, but not hit the 3rd at all, other than to look it over.  Wire, flake and fines.

Ronnie-  The Brownsville chapter usually meets on the first Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM, at the fire station in Brownsville (600 E. Blakely, at the "s" turn heading east as you leave town on the highway).

This month (April), no meeting as we will be down at Cabella's with a panning demo, then up at the Gold Show on the 9th and 10th.  Next meeting will be May 1st.  Drop by, you are more than welcome.
