Here is the story so far... So on one of my recent hunts I decided to hit a desert area that is void of any signs of historical activity or even recent activity for that matter. Anyway, I had quite the mishaps and my hunt went sour before I got any real time into it. Anyways, a couple nights later, I was on Google Earth digitally exploring the area again which I often do after having visited the area and getting to know it a bit. I was looking at the area searching closely for signs of old Wagon Trails or Homesteads and I ventured off course and ended up searching across a major river from where I had hunted and bang... There it was... I was looking at what clearly appears to be a meteor crater. This was 2 weeks ago. Since then I have studied the surrounding geography and looked at the crater from every distance and angle many times now. I already looked at our State's registered Meteor Craters and nothing near the one I have found is currently registered or known as far as I could find. So after some more research on what I must look for in order to identify whether or not it's an actual Meteor Crater and watching a ton of episodes of Meteorite Men, I am ready to head out and look at it first hand. I actually had to buy a raft in order to get me and my gear there as it's location is quite remote and a long drive around. So I will take the water to get there. I am taking the GoPro, Detectors and Diggers! Tomorrow I am headed out... Stay tuned!

Yup!  Google Earth is my friend.  I spend many hours searching for signs of prospecting and cabin sites to go look at after the snow is gone.

I couldn't figure out how to post a picture here. I can't understand why our forums are using such antiquated technology. I remember using the Image Code 15 years ago or so and I think I have to first upload the picture to a web address and insert the web address or something like that. Anyways, the found crater ended up being a huge sinkhole... Massive actually. Although no treasure, pretty cool to see.
