Hi to everyone out there.  I am new to GPAA (so forgive any ignorant questions).  My son and I are heading out west in June with a final destination of Idaho to give prospecting a hearty try.  I am planning on trying out the GPAA claims while there.  I just read that you can also request a 3 day trial to LDMA once.  Are there any LDMA claims in Idaho?  I welcome any advice that could help us be a little less green while working for that first flash of gold.

Debbie there is no LDMA claims in Idaho. In June there is a couple outing in Ca. Italian Bar, Ca. is June 11-15 and Scott Bar, Ca. June 25-29. The closet one is Burnt River, Or. and the only outing there this year is May,21-25 this month. Hope this helps. Good luck, and may your pan turn yellow with gold. Thanks Rick.

Not sure where your destination is but the LDMA Burnt River Camp is about 2 1/2hrs from Boise, Idaho. We are located in Durkee, OR. Contact the office or a 3day pass. Good luck and hope you have a great trip!

Thank you for the information!  We are going to be out that way June 4th - June 21. We are pretty open as to where we go.  I will look up the LDMA outing in CA during that time period.

I'm planning a road trip around that time. Any interest in linking up? I want to do kind of a circle through CA, OR, MT, ID, and NM.

Ronald, do you have any information on the Idaho claims or forests in the middle of the state? My son and I will be there the 10th thru the 18th and are looking for a good area. We aren't using mechanical equipment - just a stream sluice and sucker tube.
