Gee it was great to see the dredging topic on the front page news on Fox. All about the upcoming ban in Oregon. This is really going to push the subject out in front of everyone. Only bad thing is, the story kind of leans with the salmon and many people dont fully understand how the dredging works. Its easy to see them get swayed by the libs to support bans. I have already seen many comments from people thinking "miners" are these big corporations intent on taking away all the gold in the river and destroying the habitat. Some even think that the salmon actually get sucked up in the dredges and spit out lifeless. I actually think that there are "no" salmon in these smaller creeks and streams, especially if they are not spawning.

There are a lot of misinformed folks who speak from a standpoint of authority. The small scale miner, prospector, actually improves the habitat by removing lead, mercury, and other heavy, toxic metals from the streams. In addition, dredging removes much of the silt that covers over the spawning sites (gravel, rock, clear water).

    Happy Pickers!

    Agreed, Guys!
A lot of the problems here in California are spawned by our liberal government however much is perpetuated by the media.
So many stories only told from one side. I was always told as a youngster that there are TWO sides to every story.

The small scale miner (prospector) does much less harm to the environment than your typical family of four on a weekend picnic!
I believe in my heart that the majority of prospectors care more about the environment than most of the supposed "environmentalists" do......In my opinion , of course

Jim you bring up a very good point about the "media". The liberal supporters, and I am including the people who adhere to the agenda of the "progressive" movement, all have an agenda that is an organized effort by all who subscribe to the "progressive" ideals. They have a purposeful intent, and a understanding on how to win over the weak minded citizens of the USA. When I say weak minded, I am not saying this to denigrate or criticize any particular people. But I use this as an example of my own mother, who at one time always thought and trusted in the "word" of the local media, the newspaper, the AM radio talk shows. The real problem that many Americans dont seem to grasp, is the fact that the planners/and agenda setters of the "progressive" movement know and implement a plan to indoctrinate and hire only reporters and media graduates that support their agenda. They relocate and settle these people in areas of the United States that might be historically conservative leaning, and they do this with the intent of using the media to slowly change the mindset of the people, to shame the local populace into feeling guilty, and push stories that appear to make people think that their progressive agenda is the actual norm. Many of us go through life not thinking or even comprehend that this could be happening....but it is real. Go read Saul Alinsky's book entitled "Rules for Radicals" and you will clearly then understand what our top government officials are doing. Our president was an active "trainer" in these principles of action in his early days prior to his political entry.

Leo, you are 100% correct! There is an agenda that is being pushed and pushed very hard. I could have some respect for them as individuals doing what they believe in if it weren't for the incredibly unscrupulous means they will stoop to in order to advance their agenda. They will lie, cheat, steal, bend the truth, break the truth, omit evidence, hide evidence, loose emails, forget inconvenient truths, there is absolutely nothing that they wont say or do if it advances the "agenda". If a person willing to resort to these tactics, they and their cause are the same,,,,, utterly worthless.
