They will not let you renew by the year.

    John

I have to disagree with you. I am sure you can renew by the year. I have found that the GPAA/LDMA staff are not inclined to hard sell memberships. For most people
that choose to upgrade their membership it is an easy natural choice for their circumstances. I chose LDMA because this will be a lifetime activity for me. For people like yourself
that are nto sure if they want to keep at it with the organization renewing yearly is a good choice. The people at the GPAA office understand this.

My suggestion would be to call the office and speak to someone again about what you want to do. I unfortunately am terrible at remembering names or I would tell you the young lady that helps
me out everytime I hvae a question.

Why should I have to call them? All other clubs send a renewal form to send them a check. I tried to do it on their web site and it keeps saying invalid something and then invalid address. Then how can it be an invalid address when I keep getting mail from them to get a lifetime membership.  Just how good is a lifetime membership to someone who is 72 years old.

John-  Please call the office. and have them look into it and as to why you can't do it online.  They have been going through the restructuring and still may have some bugs.  I know I got renewal notices last year, but that was before the changes, and was able to renew online.

If you like all you get as a member, don't get all riled up, talk to them in the office and I'm sure they will get you set up.

John - I just completed a one year renewal online at the GPAA website. I didn't have any issues doing so. Could it be the browser you are using? I used Google Chrome and it worked as expected.

I had no issues with my renewal, it actually arrived by U.S. Postal service the last time I was up for renewal. Perhaps you need to examine the reason you joined in the first place, compared to the benefit you feel you receive. The GPAA is better or worse depending on your location and that's a fact. My motivation for joining was a Planned trip west from the Eastern States and wanting a place to put a shovel when I did. I was already a chapter member where there was no cost to belong. Several years ago I had a discussion about the GPAA with a man at the lucky Strike in N.C. he wanted to know why I was a GPAA member, which he was not, and besides the claims idea, they were, and probably still are one of the biggest advocates for the small miner and keeping land open to prospect and mine is important. I pointed out that neither he nor I independently had the ability to do that.
