Hello Adam my name is Ron Cox and I have been prospecting in central MO for about 10 years and yes there is gold here north of the Missouri river. I also like to go to the outings at Vein Mountain and Loud Mine so far.

So this may sound dumb but.I'm in Springfield And all I could afford is a small stream sluice and there is nothing in my new guide book is there some where me and my wife can go? Other than by Iowa lol

Hey Adam, One of the best things you can do is hook up with a chapter, (there are 2 in MO), The folks in chapters are always friendly and helpful when it comes to helping people get started. They usually have monthly meetings with activities, and some planned outings. Chapter info can be found in the community section of the forum, there is a map and a directory of chapters. There's one in Independence, MO and one in Grain Valley, MO. Paul

Mark Im a new member as well and live in St Louis. Being new I reached out to the St Joesph chapter and spoke with Mark. He was very helpful and told me of some places to try...hope this helps

All I can say is that at least you got a phone call l have left messages with 3 chapters and no phone calls. The only Help i got was on face book
