Hi Prospectors, I asked our Social Media Guru Paul to create this area within the Forum to make it a bit easier for me to see and respond to Members Prospecting & Mining questions. There have been a number of occasions that I have missed questions that were directed to me, this is not going to be the case any longer. I can't say that I will respond immediately because of of my schedule and the fact that there are a lot of places I travel that simply do not have connectivity. But know tha...

2 Replies and 199 Views Claims needed for Alabama and Tennessee  199  2 Started by Why is there no claims for the state of Tennessee Tennessee has ample gold and old hold mines! Why has no one found a gold claim/lease on this state There used to be several good gpaa leases in Tennessee. What happened to those claims Why are there only 3 claims in the state of Alabama With all the old 1800’s gold mines located in Alabama, there ought to be lands everywhere available for lease! With all the people out of work because of covid, now should be a good time to ask landowners ...

7 Replies and 6951 Views LDMA Claim, Leadville, CO  6951  7 Started by I am trying to find someone who has visited the LDMA Claim in Leadville, CO.  I am considering upgrading to an LDMA membership, and this is the only claim I would be able to use.  I don't want to waist thousands of dollars on an LDMA membership if the claim is not any good.  GPAA told me there are no hosts there, which might say a lot about the claim.  I appreciate anything you can tell me.  Thanks,

0 Replies and 105 Views Lucky Linda again north entrance  105  0 Started by Hello Kevin I decided to go check out Lucky Linda again claim today from the north entrance going past the so called chicken coop. I drove the half mile south and found that the gate Has been permanently removed and fence post and bobwire is in its place blocking access. This appears to have just been done in the last day or two evident of tire tracks and foot prints. Just wanted to give a heads up and something that you may be interested in investigating.

2 Replies and 238 Views Goldbug 2  238  2 Started by I was intrigued by the article you wrote about setting the sensitivity on the GB2, I'm a big fan of the GB2 and plan on trying it in a few weeks. But have a couple of questions. I like using the Audio Boost when I can or would that effect the sensitivity to much I also run my volume at max and adjust my volume on my headphones, maybe I misunderstood your instructions, do you set and leave your volume at 7 I also try and run in low mineralization but usually end up in the normal settings and m...

5 Replies and 434 Views General area maps  434  5 Started by This from a thread elsewhere here. A suggestion of a national map giving a general location of claims and areas. Or even state by state would be a great addition. Could be linked to the state pages in the property page in the on-line guide, or a section in the members only page area. Would help members when planning a trip, as to what's in the area they're headed to, instead of sifting through the guide, be it on-line or hard copy.

5 Replies and 429 Views Three Fault  429  5 Started by Weather permitting, the first week of January I'm going to give the Three Fault claim a good working over. I'll be using a Goldbug 2, 6.5' coil, I'm going to be camping on the claim and spend four days there. I've read all the reports posted and just wanted to know if you or anyone had any more information to add. I can use my 10'coil if needed to get a little bit more depth but I'm hoping there is the real small gold there too that the Goldbug with the 6.5' coil can find. Looking at google maps...

When I get back I'll post my reports, hopefully I'll have time to work...

2 Replies and 362 Views GPAA to build a .kml file of all claims for Google Earth?  362  2 Started by Has the GPAA management thought of creating a .kml overlay file for google Earth we could all download so that we wouldn't have to manually put in all the claim coordinates ourselves for areas we are interested in This would save much time and make finding remote claims easier, as well as being sure to be prospecting on the actual claim itself... as you know, the signage for many claims (not just GPAA) is often missing.. I have not built a .kml file myself but I don't believe it is very compli...

0 Replies and 241 Views GPS coordinates for GPAA claim corners online? where?  241  0 Started by Heya Kevin.. Prospector Dean here from MN. As I have time I am adding the GPS coordinates for the GPAA claim corners into Google Earth as an overlay, in the areas where I prospect. You recently had an article on this. The GPAA book has the claim corners for each claim, but I don't see them here online in the individual property descriptions, only the ingress and center of claim coordinates. Am I missing something, or are the corners purposely left out here in the properties section Also ...

0 Replies and 153 Views Pod Casts  153  0 Started by love the pod casts. I look forward to every one. They started out weekly, then about the end of March it went to every 2 weeks, then monthly, now we haven't heard a new cast since July 4th. You do alot for us prospectors, so I'm not complaining as much as I'm suggesting maybe getting some staff (gpaa) or state directors, or just other prospectors do some of the casts, so we the listeners get more content. Hearing from 'ol timers' is what we need.

I want to also meet new people who i can learn from. I am learning the geology of gold and how to read areas but someone who knows the better places to use the goldbug 2 vs sluicing and whatnot would be beneficial at this stage of my prospecting adventures. I live in maricopa but there isnt squat to legally prospect here so im willing/forced to travel.

I would be happy to help your web coder if they would like, in exchange for a cup of coffee. I'm also only 25 miles north of the Temecula office. Just asking/offering. Doug
