(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
Hi Prospectors, I asked our Social Media Guru Paul to create this area within the Forum to make it a bit easier for me to see and respond to Members Prospecting & Mining questions. There have been a number of occasions that I have missed questions that were directed to me, this is not going to be the case any longer. I can't say that I will respond immediately because of of my schedule and the fact that there are a lot of places I travel that simply do not have connectivity. But know tha...

4 Replies and 67 Views Camping on Vulture Bait claim AZ  67  4 Started by  s.kscott@frontiernet.net Hi Kevin- we are planning a 2 week trip to AZ the end of Feb- first of March. We want to camp on the Vulture Bait claim but don't see any mention of the camping, other than taking the lower road. We have a 24 ft trailer and a 4x4 pu (extended cab)- approximately 38-39ft total. My questions are- if we take the upper road into the claim, is there camping with trailers Also, we have a friend coming with us who has never prospected and is interested in the GPAA. Are we allowed to have him camp with...

1 Replies and 72 Views tweezer gold  72  1 Started by  tekmahn@msn.com Cowboy X update: Gold is, and was, plentiful, especially in ancient cultures. Try to get some now. If you can save multitudes of concentrates and capture that micron, more power to you! My start, decades ago, was tweezing tiny specks, until I was laughed at by a Talkeetna, AK Potato Patch Alaska miner. He gave me a 3 oz. nugget. I graduated and was successful in finding. Fines reintroduced. Small, odd shaped gold is currently mystifying me with it's behavior when recover...

6 Replies and 497 Views Lucky Linda Again  497  6 Started by  gregwolsen@gmail.com Hey Kevin, is there a way to get the coordinates for the Lucky Linda Claim From what I've read, others are accessing the claim, but I am at a loss as to what they are using to locate the claim borders. Bewildering as to why they aren't in the online Guide. Thanks from Greg in Vancouver, WA.

8 Replies and 558 Views Lucky Linda Again  558  8 Started by  jessicapersonett@yahoo.com In November, weather permitting, I'm planning a trip to LLA and wanted to know if I can tent camp next to the dirt road just west of the claim. My plan is to camp along the road just west and center of the claim and walk to the claim. I know there is an elevation drop getting to the claim, but looking at google maps that appears to be one of my best options. Any suggestion, comments or ideas would be helpfull. I'll be metal detecting only, using a Goldbug 2, and a 6' coil. I know the road can ge...

2 Replies and 350 Views Hopeless 1 in Broadwater county Montana  350  2 Started by  tbagemstone@gmail.com Hi Kevin. My name is Tom Allen and I belong to your fine club which I enjoy alot. I was doing some research around Radersburg Montana and found out that the claim Carol Ann 1 was abandoned not to long ago, it borders the Hopeless claim and I think it was 40 acres. I was actually thinking about claiming it but thought the GPAA might benefit from it more than I would. I just thought I would let you know so you could add some more land to the Hopeless claim. Have a nice day. Best regards Tom Allen

My sister and i are going to take a trip over that way in late September and i see that there are not any GPAA claims there. I am also going tomtry and get ahold of the BLM over there next week and see if there are open places to do that. We are just beginners but want to find something if even just one flake...lol. Thanks for your time, V. Fry

3 Replies and 769 Views guest workers?  769  3 Started by  timothykpaulus@hotmail.com Has GPAA ever considered a program to link GPAA members looking for a different experience with small scale mine operators. There are lots of us from the east that vacation out west that would be willing to provide free labor in exchange for the experience of being on a real operation. GPAA's role could be as simple as providing the forum for the parties to connect and maybe develop a liability disclaimer for members to sign that protect the mine operator. Just an idea to throw out there that mi...

I have prospected in Washington state and go by the gold and fish pamphlet which lays out all of the regulations pretty well and are required to have the pamphlet on your person which is your permit/ HPA. For Oregon I am having trouble finding rules and regulations on prospecting and mining. Like what practices are legal vs illegal and times of year you can use certain equipment and such. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this info And if the...

11 Replies and 1548 Views CA beach gold  1548  11 Started by  brandon.n.barton92@gmail.com Just curious if there is any information on running a recirc system to get beach gold in California I’ve tried looking it up and it’s just a bunch of old pages with old information and even looking it up on CA gov websites doesn’t have anything in black and white saying you can’t. Just want to make sure I’m not breaking a law that may or may not exist since nothing is easy to find when it comes to California.
