New Michigan Member looking for spots to pan. 24065 33

Good day,
I am a new first time member and had a question. I live in SE Michigan and was wondering if there is anyplace to practice panning. I see reports saying there is placer gold all over the place and it has been found here in Oakland county (North of Detroit). Problem is I have also seen writing stating that the DNR seems to discourage panning with all sorts of rules. Being as I have no desire to break the law just where can we pan here

Headed out to South Cali in march. First time past Colorado and its a long Haul from Clinton MO. Taking my Wife a daughter and going to try to find some gold. Looking at Warrior Claim Maybe. Has anyone ever found anything there. Just want to find a little bit for fun and spend some time with the Family. If any ones knows any place we might find A little gold and that can be accessed with a mini Van I would sure Appreciate any Advice on a good location. J...

What's the possibility of having someone in the area go with us on our first outing to the mountains around Mesa in May This will be my FIRST time trying to find the yellow stuff and I'm still GREEN behind the ears. Hopefully, I will have the metal detector, topo maps of the area, and all the other stuff.

Last fall I bought a miner's wheel. I have screened my sand down to 1/8' and run it several times, I still have rocks( not gold) in the cup and in the bottom of the wheel. I hate panning, kills my back and knees. I know there is plenty of Gold in the sand as have seen it. I've used twisters to get a couple of chunks that were just smaller than pickers out. I can't decide to just snif all the black sand and gold then heat the fry pan to get rid of the water, and run a magnet over it to remove the...

Hello. we just moved to the area and got our first detector. (Minelab Xterra 705 Gold). We joined GPAA for the education in the hobby as well as access to the claims that GPAA has. I was wondering what to expect when we visit the claims that GPAA has as far as other people, and if the area is friendly. We are looking out by Dolan Springs, AZ Specifically.

Why does the GPAA list the Country Boy Mine as one of it's claim It's messed up. This is an underground mine tour and is no way affiliated with the GPAA. This is a recipe for disappointment for anyone who goes to this claim. I ask GPAA to take it off the list.

Hello, Im relatively new to prospecting and currently a resident of Pennsylvania. Soon I will be striking it out to the southwest to find some color. Any advice concerning gear, terrain, technique would be awesome. I will primarily be prospecting/panning in Arizona. Maybe Idaho, Utah and Colorado too.
