Update: California Dredging Ban Case

Superior Court of California Judge Gilbert Ochoa did not make a ruling in the California dredging ban case at the hearing in Rancho Cucamonga May 1.

Superior Court of California Judge Gilbert Ochoa did not make a ruling in the California dredging ban case at the hearing in Rancho Cucamonga May 1. Although the judge said he would make a ruling "in a couple of weeks," before closing open court, he called the lawyers into his judge's chamber for a 45-minute meeting following the hearing. The judge has asked for a "settlement conference" slated for June 24. In the meantime, more than 120 miners packed the courtroom to show their support for Public Lands for the People.

Gilbert G. Ochoa is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on October 3, 2007 to fill a newly created seat. Ochoa was most recently re-elected in 2010 and his current term will expire in 2017.
