You may have recently noticed several short articles published on the GPAA website as it relates to gold prospecting during the Coronavirus pandemic. These articles have prompted a few frequently asked questions from members, and we'll do our best to address them for you here.
Are GPAA Claims Still Open For Use?
GPAA Claims are located on federal BLM and USFS land. At this time, only developed property and campgrounds have been closed in certain states. Access to GPAA claims has not been impacted, and if your local guidelines permit, you are free to continue prospecting as long as you are following the CDC guidelines to slow the spread of the virus. This includes practicing social distancing, and not being in groups of more than 10 people. Not a member? Click here to join today.
We will continue to monitor the situation as it is released from these federal agencies, but we encourage you to research these agencies on a state level for updated information as it relates to your specific location. Links to both can be found below. Are GPAA Offices Still Open?
The GPAA Office is located in California, and we are complying with the Governors order to Stay at Home to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. Thanks to recent advancements in technology, the GPAA is still fully equipped to handle all of your membership needs as our staff is working from home during this time. The Member Relations Department will be available 7 days per week between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. PT to service your membership, process membership renewals, and answer any questions you have about your membership. Your Member Relations Specialist can be reached by calling 1-800-551-9707
Have Shipping Times Been Impacted?
We have not seen a delay in our shipping times. Orders placed at www.goldprospectors.org, www.gpaastore.com, or by calling 1-800-551-9707 are still going out daily, and you should receive your order in a reasonable timeframe.
Have The Gold & Treasure Shows Been Cancelled?
Due to several state issued Shelter In Place orders, as well as consideration for the safety of GPAA Staff, Vendors, and Show Participants, we have postponed the remaining 2020 GPAA Gold & Treasure Shows. We will be rescheduling these shows as soon as it is appropriate to do so. If you've purchased tickets for these events, you should have already received a refund. Please note some banks may take 7-10 business days from the time the refund was processed for it to appear in your account. We appreciate your patience as we had many refunds to process. For updates on event rescheduling, follow GPAA Gold & Treasure Shows on Facebook by clicking the button below. Have the LDMA Outings Been Cancelled?
As the future of the Coronavirus is uncertain, we are addressing this on an outing-by-outing basis. To this point, 2 outings have been postponed, and all registered attendees have been notified. We will look to resume outings as soon as it is appropriate to do so, so for that reason we are looking at each date individually. Stay tuned to the news section at www.lostdutchmans.com for updates.
We at the GPAA will continue to monitor this situation and provide our members with updates as it relates to your GPAA membership. Until then, take care of yourself and stay safe out there.
