Van, Texas April 17, 2021 – Mr. Vaughan Garrett Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales announced to the attendees of the Charles Garrett Memorial Hunt IV, the first co-branded Garrett – White’s detector will be the GoldMaster 24K aka. GMT 24K due for release mid-year 2021.
Members of the Garrett team that I spoke with including Mr. Garrett shared with me that there are Garrett technologies they wish to incorporate into the GMT 24K before release but did not elaborate on what those upgrades may be.
Attendees of Mr. Garrett’s announcement met the announcements with mixed responses which was to be expected. Most in attendance are exceptional coin relic and treasure hunters with little intrest in electronic gold prospecting. However, the gold prospectors loyal to the Garrett line and other gold prospectors saw this as a massive forward move by Garrett to introduce to the Garrett prospecting line a higher frequency worldwide proven detector.
In an interview with Mr. Garrett, he shared that the GMT 24K will be co-branded as a White’s Garrett detector to pay regard to the White’s detectors and the long Garrett-White friendship between Charles Garrett and Ken White Sr. The interview in its entirety will be published in the July August edition of the Gold Prospector Magazine. Including some unknown events about the Garrett White’s relationship dating back over the last forty years.
Personally, I was excited to see the Garrett – White’s acquisition. I believed that Garrett would advance the White’s line and still believe this to be true. I was admittedly surprised with the announcement that the first detector would be the GMT 24K and at the same time understanding of the move. After all Garrett Detectors was the company that truly started the first electronic gold rush with the legendary Garrett GROUNDHOG.
