There’s no better place to catch gold fever than at the GPAA Gold Panning Zone at the GPAA Gold & Treasure Show in Nashville, Tenn., this weekend where you, your family and friends can pan for real gold!

The popular Gold Prospectors Association of America’s Gold Panning Zone features panning troughs with real gold where all show attendees can try their hand at panning, and take some color home. And, if you don’t know how to pan, don’t worry. Experienced prospectors will be on hand to show you how.

“We’re hosting three shows in Tennessee, Ohio and North Carolina in October, and we’re thrilled to be back in the eastern states for gold and good times,” said GPAA President Brandon Johnson. “There’s something for everybody at our gold shows, and more than $10,000 worth of prizes in the main raffle alone.”

The grand prize for the raffle is a one-week stay for two at Roaring Camp, located along the scenic Mokelumne River in the heart of California’s Mother Lode country.

“Gold prospecting, gem hunting and treasure seeking—including metal detecting—are fun family activities that you won’t want to miss, and the best place to get started is at a GPAA Gold & Treasure Show,” Johnson said. “And, if you are already a rockhound, this is a great way to expand your knowledge of geology as it relates to gold, other valuable metals and gems.”

The first event in Nashville, Tenn. will feature speakers such as Mike Pung, co-inventor of the Gold Cube, Kevin Hoagland of the GPAA-produced TV series Gold Trails, and Travis A. Paris, who will speak on “Geology & Understanding the Land Around Us.”

The show will also feature vendors of prospecting and small-scale mining equipment, including Gold Cube, Felix Paydirt, Minelab Metal Detectors, Spin it Off, Aurora Mining Products, Keene Engineering, Garret Metal Detectors, Roaring Camp and Kellyco Metal Detectors.

The host chapter for the show is the Coker Creek GPAA Chapter: www.cokercreekgpaa.com
