Hey everyone. I'm looking for places that I can take my mom to do some rock collecting but her physical condition
makes it so that hiking and severely bumpy off-roading is not an option. She has severe arthritis and even on her
good days has trouble walking. There are a host of other mobility issues as well. She used to be active in her rock
club but can't do multi-day outings any more (she isn't confident enough to drive a car with her problems lately)
so I'm looking for areas that don't have too severe off-roading required that are pretty much places where we can
open the door and walk around looking for stuff by the roadside. We went to Obsidian Butte near Salton Sea the
other day and I'm considering the Nuevo Mine for Tourmaline soon (I need to scout it first to make sure the bumps
on the road wont hurt her too much). Any other places you can recommend would be really appreciated and helpful!
We both have active GPAA memberships but any area is okay, doesn't have to be on a GPAA claim as long as its not
trespassing to rockhound there.
