I saw in the rules that family can be with you if you have a gpaa membership. Also you can have guests , my family is much older and cannot go with me . Do friends count as guests and is so are they allowed to help me dig as my back isn’t what it used to be?

    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thank you

The GPAA guests rule allows members to bring up to 4 guests to a claim, but these guests are limited to panning only. The GPAA Code of Ethics must be adhered to by all members and their guests. Guests must be accompanied by a GPAA member and cannot operate any equipment without permission. The GPAA membership benefits include spouse or significant other and all children under the age of 18 residing within the household.

basically, they cannot bring their own huge equipment and just start going to town on the claims, I personally think it's more of an education thing to get your guests interested in joining the club and finding their own gold, also, we don't want non-members going onto the claims whenever they feel like it. and we have seen that a few times. We bring friends to claims just to show them a crash course in panning and metal detecting, but we know personally they won't travel to these claims without us.
