I am going out to Colorado first two weeks of July. I plan was going to be to check out some claims on BLM land to see if they would be worth getting. I did find a reseller of claims and paid what I feel was a good price for a claim. Its in Gunnison County and Spring Creek runs through it. In my research I haven't found anything saying its a bad location. I am happy finding one kicker per 5 gallon bucket of classified dirt, I don't have high expectations, I find panning relaxing and the gold is a bonus.

Anyways, anyone have experience in that part of Colorado? I will be out there from the 1st to the 13th of Jult (it is off highway/route 744) people are welcome to join me out there.

Hey 👋 Jeff, I don’t have any gold prospecting experience on Spring Creek in Gunnison County, but I believe there’s a mineral rich placer, including gold, that feeds Rocky Brook, which in turn feeds into Spring Creek. I don’t know if your claim is below the junction of those two streams. Any stream in that area is worth spending time on for gold prospecting. I’ll consult my ‘special’ map when I find it 🤨. Incredibly beautiful museum grade watermelon tourmaline has been found near Parlin…🤫!

thats good to know, my claim is about 4 miles south of the junction. I was going to head out yesterday, but had to delay to the 5th of July. Once I get out there and pan some, I plan on posting the coordinates and letting all GPAA members go there if they want to.
