    Hello everyone. I am new to the gold world. I got gold fever and bad, lol. I currently buy paydirt, but I want to get out in the field and get some gold myself. Im wondering if anyone knows any places in Maryland or Virginia? I know the club shows 1 in MD, but does anyone know places besides that area? Also, does anyone in Maryland want to go out and prospect together? I would love to have a prospecting partner as I don't know anyone who does this. I would like to make new gold friends.

    Hello Vickie, I get out to Maryland once every 1 - 2 years for a fossil hunting trip. I don't know of any gold prospecting spots, but I wouldn't mind trying (I've only prospected in CA & AZ). I'll keep in touch when I know the next time I'm out that way. Steve

    Hey Vickie I’m from Maryland and there used to be a Frederick chapter that met in new market and I’m currently trying to track down some people to see the viability of bringing it back. Funny this was the first post I found in the forum trying to do just that.

    I’m also in Maryland, I’m always looking for someone to go prospecting with. Not many of my friends are interested in it. I’m also pretty new at prospecting. It would be nice if you could reach out sometime and possibly meet up.

    Hey James,

    That sounds good. I would like to meet up and prospect. I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure if you can DM someone. If u know can u DM me ur info and I'll respond to that. Yeah most of my friends are not into the whole gold thing either so I need gold buddies lol. I just bought the minelab equinox 900 metal detector, and I got that one because it also has a gold setting and searchs for gold. I haven't tried it yet tho as it just came in yesterday.

    I don’t think there’s anyway to DM on here. I was talking with Brandon Poole and he was also interested in meeting up. I wonder if there’s a way the three of us could meet up somewhere. What part of Md. do you live? Just trying to figure out somewhere that would be convenient for us to meet.

    Hey All,

    Has anybody been to one of the Dirt Fest events? I was thinking about going to the one at Oconee Camp, South Carolina. It’s Sept. 28 - oct. 13 I already took time off work to go the first weekend of October.

    I am in PG county. Laurel to be exact. James I haven't heard about that event. Can I have more details on it? I would be down to go if I knew others going. I know exactly where Howard county is I use to stay there in elkridge.

    Do u guys have a good source to buy paydirt? I have been buying from a company by the pound but here lately that dirt has been dry and not finding anything. I do know of a company that sells a ROI of 100% but that's $400 and I don't want to spend that much right now lol.

    Hey Vickie,

    The Drit Fest is in Oconee, South Carolina. It’s $100 dollars to attend and that’s for up to two weeks or a couple of days. You can tent camp, RV or I think rent a cabin. That’s all the information I know. I want to go but I feel weird going myself. The camp phone number is (864) 944-8325. I have been getting pay dirt from Crimson gold camp. It’s been worth it is not 100% ROI but it’s good.

    Yeah I totally understand the going alone thing. I don't like to go places alone. Well I have anxiety and I always feel like I'm being judged or some shit so that doesn't help any. That does sound like a fun time to go. I would be down.
