Yes it's a lifetime membership, and it also makes you a Lifetime GPAA member.

You still have to pay the $10 per month maintenance fee.

What is the monthly LDMA maintenance fee? The GPAA membership doesn't require it. If you become a LDMA member and die a year later, can you will your membership to someone else? Thanks for any info you can share.

Hey Matt, the maint fee is $10 per month and it helps cover the cost of the bath houses, electricity, water and infrastructure at the camps, as a lot of the LDMA camps have facilities, offices, meeting halls, bath houses etc. The LDMA requires it because unlike just paying claim fees like the GPAA does, the LDMA owns their properties and have a lot more expenses associated with each property.

You might be able to pass it on, not sure. I know if you're on the payment plan your estate can choose to continue it or request it be cancelled.

Not sure about a full paid membership, maybe call the office or someone else here might know the answer.

    Hope this helps, Paul

Be very sure you want to join LDMA. I upgraded from just GPAA to LDMA at a gold show a few years ago. Since my son no longer goes with me I wanted to drop LDMA and just continue with GPAA. They won't let you do that! You have to cancel everything and start all over again toward a lifetime membership with GPAA. Needless to say, I think this is the end of both LDMA and GPAA for me.

I don't see an end to it as you still have all the GPAA benifits as well as the claims that the LDMA has .You can go too any claim at anytime you wish for the last of your life.

A question for all you LDMA members out there. Can you pass on your membership to someone else if you die?

Here you go Matt, this is right out of the LDMA handbook.

"Once LDMA is officially notified of a member's death, the LDMA membership automatically transfers to the surviving spouse. A formal letter of notification, copy of Death Certificate and name change would be appreciated to update the file. The spouse has the option to continue, close or transfer the membership. If there is no surviving spouse. the Family and/or Executor of the Estate can either request in writing to close or transfer the membership to a family member or interested party. A copy of the Death Certificate is required. The Family and/or Executor of the Estate has one year from the time LDMA is notified; to transfer the membership before it is considered no longer valid."

Hope this helps in your decision.

I see adds from people selling their lifetime membership. Is this allowable?
Also, does one membership cover my wife and kids?
    Thanks
