First of all I would like to say thanks to everyone at the Phoenix Chapter for their help and info. I am fairly new to gold prospecting and had worked a couple claims up in Prescott. My Question is: The grounds at Nugget Flow Claims and the surrounding area are so much different than what i work with in Prescott.. It is very hard ground and not much gravel to work with that I see, how do you work the area and the ground material to get some gold in the pan?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Phoenix Chapter has a facebook page. Look them up. In May they are having an outing with the Vegas chapter in the Gold Basin area.

Hey Chris, I am not sure if I follow your question, but if the ground is too hard I might have an idea. I read a story the other day about a prospector that used a small jack hammer (about the size of a large drill) and a small cement mixer from Harbor Freight. Once he broke the clumps of soil from the ground he would run it in the cement mixer along with 2 or 3 large rocks to act like an impact mill. Then he was able to run the material through his drywasher to get the gold.
