I'm new to the GPAA family, and also new to prospecting in the San Diego area. I have a M/D, and a lot of "wet" prospecting gear. I have done quite a bit of prospecting up in the Sierras, dredging, sluicing, etc., but new to metal detecting. I have looked at the claims in the book I received, but would love some real world advice on where to go. I am retired, so have the time, I have a newer f-150, but no 4-WD. I don't mind traveling a bit, so anything in the southwest would be an option. I would very much appreciate any information on GPAA claims, and open land areas to get started. I know I have a learning curve ahead of me, but I am dedicated to a winter prospecting pastime to fill the days until the Sierras are accessible next summer. Thanks in advance for any help, advice anyone may offer! John

If you like adventure, try Coleman Creek in Julian. The easy Gold is at the Julian Mining Co. Pay the extra $7 for a scoop of 'paydirt'
