Hi, I'm new to prospecting. I joined a little over a week ago and have been itching to tryout my luck on some claims. I've been practicing with pans, 30" sluice, tables etc... I'm ready to start the hard labor and find some for myself and enjoy the outdoors. I figured Lytle Creek would be a good start because its not far from me. If anyone that frequents the claim could tell me if I need any other permissions to go up there, or could I just head up as a member and go at it? Also any info on some spots to try out, and can you run a sluice on the creek? I want to go to the Cajon pass and High Desert Claims later in the year when its not too hot, to try my hand at detecting and dry washing. So really any info about prospecting in So. Cal would be really helpful.
Thanks again for the info and Glad to be a member.

Welcome Michael,im not a sesoned pro but i have been to the lytelcreek claim a few times. You should have an adventure pass to park the local rangers check for this often.the entrance from the road is a sharp curb about 8 inches could highcenter a car.i also live close to this claim but ive yet to find color,i usually end up just picking up trash and enjoying the view.lot of lead in the ground and no water flow(unless its raining).
