Headed to Greyback Group in New Mexico next week, any advice or recommendations for the area would be greatly appreciated. Traveling from Mobile AL and staying at Hillsboro RV park for a few days. Thanks

What days next week? Weather forecast is 99-100+ and it can get quite windy on the claim, 20mph + so 1st on your list should be lots of water, sunscreen, a snakebite kit and some portable shade.
What equipment are you bringing? Lots of bedrock access for Vacuum / Crevice Kit use. Ground is highly mineralized if your using a metal detector, water if your using a recirc, system,
email me at " howardfinchsr@hotmail.com " if you have questions. I'll do my best to answer.

    Hello Everyone,
greenhorn living in red river new mexico. I've been out quite a few times in my area (always near town of Red River). and had very little luck. Im looking for anyone in the area with any knowledge of the area. I've been out on Placer Creek and Bitter Creek mainly and had very little luck. wondering if there is anyone nearby i could talk with about where to go and about what im doing wrong and right. i don't know anyone here who prospects at all, and the information i can find online is not very helpful or i don't know what it means. Only got into prospecting this summer on the weekends i have off and im entirely self taught except for youtube.
i have a super cheapo knockoff sluice from ebay (which i now know i need to upgrade badly, suggestions welcome) a bunch of hand tools and some muscle. Really i guess im looking for any and all advice from experienced prospectors which i am not. Good news is there is tons of history here and i know there is the yellow stuff out there.

    thanks
