    Greetings!

It is a tradition at every LDMA outing that an auction be held to generate additional funds for that particular property above and beyond normal income. That is what we are going at Duisenburg in November...but with several new twists.

Our goal is to provide management with additional financial resources to help them undertake various capital improvement projects that they deem necessary and timely.

Usually attendees donate something that they brought with them to the auction and a few thousands of dollars are raised.

I volunteered to chair the auction at Duisenburg this year with the goal of raising significant new revenue by offering auction items that are not from someone's RV, Tent of prospecting site. Most of us already have all the pans, shovels, screens, etc that we need. Many times the other items are from Uncle Joe who gave it to Aunt Lil who passed it down to Betty Lou who had it in her closet for 20 years and then gave it to Bill who decided to go on a gold prospecting trip with this 40 year old toaster which he did not want in the first place. So it ends up an auction item.

It is my objective to change the character of the Duisenburg auction from selling off "JUNK" to auctioning off items which people would want and treasure and will pay a fair price for. The end result, hopefully, is generating capital improvements funds in the tens of thousands of dollars instead of $2,000 to $3,000.

All decisions as to when and where these funds will be allocated will be made solely by management of the LDMA.

I hope this helps you understand where we are coming from.

PS: Watch for some very exciting new auction items to come....

    CORRECTION:

The drawing is only signed by Governor Perry. IT IS NOT drawn by him.

    Sorry for the confusion:-(
